Netanyahu OUT. Eisenkot IN.
That has been my assessment for months. In this clip, Ehud Barak explains how the election results can translate into an alternative government.
We should not lose ourselves in every statement, maneuver, and detail of coalition negotiations. My assessment is that we have entered the post-Netanyahu era, even if removing him from office takes time and difficult negotiations.
The most important question for us as Palestinians is: Are we ready for this new phase? Certainly not.
We postponed our own elections, blocking an opportunity to renew our democratic legitimacy and elect a leadership with a popular mandate. We have developed neither a clear strategy for engaging Israeli society nor a practical plan for dealing with a new government and pursuing the opportunities change could bring.
Netanyahu’s departure will not automatically end the occupation. Eisenkot will not deliver Palestinian statehood simply by becoming prime minister. But a change of government could create opportunities to protect Palestinians from settler violence, restore workers’ livelihoods, improve prisoners’ conditions, bring life back to Gaza, and lay the groundwork for a political process.
Every one of those opportunities requires a prepared Palestinian leadership with legitimacy, a plan, and the ability to take the initiative.
My fear is that Israel’s political landscape will change while we remain trapped in the same policies and methods—then blame the world for another opportunity we failed to seize.
Preparation begins at home: Palestinian elections, renewed institutions, and a strategy that turns potential change into tangible gains for our people and brings us closer to freedom and an end to the occupation.

The Democrats’ Yair Golan and Ra’am’s Mansour Abbas met today to underline their commitment to a Jewish-Arab coalition government.
Thousands of Israelis are signing letters of support for such a government.
Eisenkot, Bennet and Lapid, perhaps even Liberman — will they rise to the challenge?

I don’t know, guys. If you don’t look at Arab politics and see fundamentally different rhetoric and strategies from 20 years ago, then you aren’t actually looking at Arab politics. You’re just reading Likud talking points about it.
There’s a massive anti-Israel and anti-Zionist sentiment in the Arab street. Probably 60% of Arab political representation openly represents that sentiment. And also, there’s a powerful and growing demand to join coalitions, including with the right, to work with state institutions, to integrate into Israeli mainstream society, and so on.
Arab political parties that leave aside their ideological uniqueness and unite in a demand for a seat at the table always improve turnout in the Arab street. Always. For eight elections in a row now, that rule has held. Raam has grown dramatically, specifically because it brought a Zionist Jew into its list as its crime czar and promised its voters to tackle real world problems by working *with* Israeli state institutions, instead of against them.
It is entirely possible for the Arabs of Israel to both feel deeply Palestinian, deeply wary of Israel’s Jewishness, and deeply desiring of greater integration with their Jewish neighbors.
Don’t let anyone make excuses for the many anti-Israel radicals in those lists. But also, it’s simply a lie to pretend that the new and growing desire to integrate isn’t happening.
Welcome to real life, where two seemingly opposite things can be taking place at once.
Replying to @havivrettiggur
Arab voters want integration, which is why it's never reflected in anything they actually do and all the parties they actually vote for favor the Palestinian identity. The average Arab citizen regards himself as a Palestinian, however inconvenient that is for liberal Zionists.

🇪🇸🚆🇮🇱 Facts regarding the tragic railway accident that occurred in the town of Urda (Toledo):
✅ What is the key contractor responsible for the signaling and traffic-control systems on Spain’s railway network? It is called Thales Group, a French company specializing in the development of electronic systems, advanced technology, and services for three main sectors: Defense and Security, Aeronautics and Space, and Cybersecurity and Digital Identity. Thales is a major French and NATO defense contractor—it develops cybersecurity systems for Rafale fighter jets, nuclear submarines, and satellite systems—and its subsidiaries are said to include numerous former members of Israel’s elite Unit 8200, associated with the IDF’s intelligence apparatus.
✅ In Spain, Thales is responsible for technology designed to prevent trains from colliding. Wait… so what could have failed here after Thales won numerous major contracts to install and maintain signaling and safety systems on Spain’s conventional and high-speed rail networks? Adif, for example, awarded it contracts to renew the signaling and protection systems on the Madrid–Seville high-speed line in order to implement the European ERTMS standard, a highly sophisticated piece of software that appeared to be “fail-safe.”
✅ So was the Toledo catastrophe caused by a failure of this supposedly “fail-safe” software implemented by Thales, or could it have been manipulated? According to the technical architectures described by experts regarding Thales, these systems operate under the strictest safety certification in the world—SIL4, or Safety Integrity Level 4—which means that the software is mathematically designed so that the probability of a critical failure is practically nonexistent. Surprise: there was a critical failure, and it was catastrophic.
✅ Thales also uses RBC (Radio Block Centre) trackside software, which constantly calculates the Movement Authority—how far a train is permitted to travel safely—and transmits this information by radio to the train’s onboard software, or On-Board Unit. If the driver exceeds the maximum permitted speed or ignores a signal, the onboard software takes control and automatically activates the emergency brakes. So what the hell happened to that RBC?
✅ Thales also uses ARAMIS software, which supposedly manages rail traffic intelligently by monitoring train routes across the country and predictively detecting potential conflicts before they occur. All of this technology is highly automated, with practically no human intervention. So, if we accept the explanation of a “technical failure,” what exactly failed so catastrophically in the Toledo accident?
✅ One more thing to add: The security, defense, and military-technology links between Thales Group and Israel are close, and the company is a strategic partner of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, supplying components for military drones. Meanwhile, the company’s digital arm—Thales DIS, formerly Gemalto—maintains government contracts in Israel, operating as a provider of maintenance and upgrades for automated identification and biometric-identification computer systems used by the Israeli police and military in their repression of the occupied Palestinian territories.

53 bloque Netanyahu
19 partidos árabes
48 bloque Eizenkot
