Well when it comes to the bill, until we know what variations were discussed as the project progressed we can't categorically say it's expensive. If the same plan that was billed $150m ended up as $350m then I can understand but if the scope changed, if there were additions etc then it can significantly affect pricing. Seen it happen many times but all the documents and instructions would be there to back it. If not then maybe kuluulu dey

You have a point. The stadium, purpose built for rugby and football, already has a high profile rugby fixture locked in for January, so the hope is that this is part of a grand plan. However, having initially been billed to cost ~$140 million, it ended up with a $350 million bill — that's a lot of money for a 60,000 seater. Sceptics will also say "this is Africa" and "if you know, you know", much like many AFCON stadia have gone to waste for much of the last few decades. Fingers crossed this one becomes a success story. 🙏🏿

South Africa's 🇿🇦 Olwethu Makhanya is a centre-back, and September's Scottish Premiership Player of the Month. Last night Rangers were 2-1 down at Hearts in the 89th minute. Then he scored. 2-2. Player of the match. Best African defender in Scotland?

Burkina Faso's 🇧🇫 Edmond Tapsoba is a centre-back. He's also Leverkusen's new captain. 0 goals in 11 games this season. Then, in 8 minutes: two corners, two goals, 0-2 became 2-2. Leverkusen won 5-2 at home to Nürnberg. Best captain in the Bundesliga?

Foreign fans who say match going fans should just boycott games have no clue what they are talking about. You lose that season ticket and the club will pass it up to someone on the very very long waiting list in a matter of micro seconds. You won’t get that ticket back for 5 yrs.

If Ajax vs Bayern is part of a long term plan of attracting top teams to East Africa for summer preseason tours then I would say, yes it's worth the cost. Sports is expensive but it opens many economies up. Like the F1 circuit in Rwanda, yes it's a lot of money but lots of opportunities as well. Let's see if they have a solid plan

As for beautiful, it is. No doubt. Reminds me of Cameroon's main stadium used for AFCON 2021, the Olembe Stadium. This one, like that one, saw citizens say it cost too much money to build. People are also not happy that Bayern vs Ajax opening match will cost.... ... an estimated $5 million, at least. 😬 But, yes, it is beautiful. Lol.
