Today, ONA joins in celebrating #Juneteenth. The fight for workers' rights has always been inextricably linked to the fight for civil rights. We are #StrongerTogether
Honoring all nurses--and everyone--who gave all in service to our country. #MemorialDay
As #NationalNursesWeek comes to a close, remember that it's not enough to just celebrate nurses. We must also guarantee safe and healthy working conditions.
Because safe nurses = safe patients

Nurses are the backbone of healthcare.
That's why this week -- Nurses Week -- and every week, ONA is fighting for the conditions and resources nurses need to ensure the best outcomes for their patients.
#NationalNursesWeek #safestaffingsaveslives
Nurses Week is a time to honor the expertise, leadership & relentless advocacy nurses bring to the bedside & beyond.
But appreciation without action is not enough.
Safe nurses mean:
✅Enforceable safe staffing standards
✅Protections against workplace violence
✅Respect for clinical judgment
✅Systems that prevent moral injury

May 1st is International Labor Day.
Today, don't just celebrate worker power, make a plan to use it.
Because worker power is how we come together. And civic action is how we turn that power into real change.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON CE TIMELINE CHANGES
Thank you to the hundreds of nurses who reached out to the Board of Nursing to ask about their recent changes to the CE timeframes!
While the Board acknowledges that the rule is already in effect, it is choosing to not apply the new rule to LPNs until 2028, meaning that LPNs can continue earning CE through October 31 when renewing their licenses this year.
The @OhioNursingBd changed the timelines during which licensed nurses can earn CE hours.
ONA sent a letter to the Board today, demanding they notify all licensed nurses and ensure no nurses are penalized for the Board's lack of communication.
Ohio's nurses deserve better.
Important transition year information:
For LPNs renewing in 2026:
Only CE earned between November 1, 2024 and June 30, 2026 may be used for this renewal.
For RNs renewing in 2027:
Only CE earned between November 1, 2025 and June 30, 2027 may be used for renewal.
