Isn't this shameful? Public office is now a thing of compensation rather than competency and merit.
Julius, the man standing beside the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was the PDP candidate in Bwari Area Council, during the last FCT Area Council elections. He is an indigene of the Territory being a Gbagyi man.
Despite being popular and very formidable, he was asked to step down for the APC candidate, and he did.
During the Town Hall interactive meeting in Bwari last week, the Minister promised to recommend him to the President for an appointment as the FCT Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) chairman.
You can see the reactions of the people.
That's leadership.
You cannot follow Wike diligently and be left stranded.

Good morning concerned citizens.
See where your subsidy money has gone to. BMW, Range Rover, GMC, ACURA all as campaign vehicles. I have never seen such, we spend money like we are Arabs.
Meanwhile the UN just confirmed that 17.9m Nigerians have fallen into dimensional poverty under this administration, this is the highest increase in the whole world.
If we don’t send these people out of government, wallahi we won’t have a country again.
But our politicians who deliberately steal public funds , deposit
it to their bank accounts risk what? You all will rot in hell for this.
I do not support it when people take what doesn't belong tho.
Nigerians Who Refuse To Return Money Wrongly Deposited Into Their Bank Accounts Risk 5–10 Years In Prison — CBN warns
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has warned Nigerians that refusing to return money mistakenly paid into their bank accounts could attract between five and 10 years’ imprisonment.
CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso issued the warning through Hakama Sidi Ali at a stakeholders’ meeting of the bank’s “CBN Listens Programme,” held at Jogor Event Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday.
He also cautioned bank customers against sharing personal and banking information with fraudsters, stressing that obtaining another person’s account details through fraudulent means attracts severe penalties.
“A customer who fails to refund wrongly deposited money to the rightful owner attracts 5-10 years’ imprisonment,” Cardoso stated.
Speaking on the programme’s importance, he said the initiative allows the apex bank to engage stakeholders, explain its policies, address misconceptions and receive feedback to improve the financial system.
He noted that the CBN had introduced several reforms in recent years to strengthen financial stability, improve transparency, expand financial inclusion and support sustainable economic growth.
Among the initiatives highlighted were the non-resident Bank Verification Number (BVN) for Nigerians living abroad, reforms in foreign exchange trading, the Nigerian Payments System Vision 2028 and the introduction of the Nigerian Overnight Financial Rate.
The governor also reminded depositors of their right to escalate unresolved complaints against their banks. According to him, customers can contact the Director of the CBN’s Consumer Protection and Financial Inclusion Department if their bank fails to acknowledge a complaint within three days.
Alternatively, customers can obtain a tracking number if their complaints are not resolved within the timelines stipulated by the Consumer Protection Regulation.

Nigeria’s Passport Plunges From 90th To 181st Position. Visa-Free Access Falls From 44 Destinations To 24
Nigeria’s passport has reportedly dropped to 181st out of 196 countries in the latest IziVisa Passport Ranking Index, down from 90th position in July 2026.
According to data published on IziVisa.com, Nigerians can travel to 24 countries visa-free, obtain visas on arrival in 16 countries and access 43 countries through electronic visas.
The report highlights a decline in Nigeria’s visa-free score from 44 destinations in July to 24 in the latest IziVisa ranking.
IziVisa explained that passports are ranked according to the number of destinations their holders can access without obtaining a visa beforehand, including visa-free entry, visas on arrival and electronic visas.
The United Arab Emirates leads the 2026 ranking, with access to 185 of 198 destinations through the three travel categories, while Switzerland occupies second position. Luxembourg, Malta, Denmark, Spain and Finland also feature prominently.
Separately, the July 2026 Henley Passport Index placed Nigeria 90th out of 199 passports, with visa-free access to 44 destinations. The index, published by Henley & Partners, assesses passports against 227 travel destinations using data from the International Air Transport Association.
Among African countries, South Africa ranked 49th globally, with access to 101 destinations, followed by Botswana in 61st position with 81 destinations. Morocco ranked 67th with 71 destinations, while Kenya placed 68th with 70.
Ghana ranked 70th, with access to 67 destinations, while Nigeria shared its position with the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Turkmenistan in the Henley ranking.
However, the IziVisa and Henley indices use different methodologies and coverage, meaning their rankings are not directly comparable.

BREAKING:
Tinubu has broken another record.
Nigeria remains the country with the highest number of people living in extreme poverty.
As we speak, Nigeria is currently producing more poverty than Afghanistan. The country is producing a much larger absolute increase in multidimensional poverty than Afghanistan.
From the latest UNDP’s (HDR), about 18 million Nigerians now live in multidimensional poverty.
To put this in proper context: The Netherlands, Romania, Guatemala, & Ecuador, each of them have a population of a little above 18 million.
Now, here is a summary of the Report:
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has a publication it calls the Human Development Reports (HDR). They publish it annually. This year’s report has been published.
It is called the (2026 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index). The report covers 108 countries under UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals.
SDGs measures HDI (Health, Education, & the Standard of living), those things that Peter Obi talks about. Human Development Index (HDI) is the ‘only’ tool used in pulling people out of poverty. HDI is for the masses, IGR (subsidy savings, VAT + FAAC) is for the politicians.
The 2026 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) was published on Monday, & it showed that Bola Tinubu’s “Bold Reforms” has rolled back all the progress made in reducing the poverty in Nigeria (between 2018 & 2021).
Nigeria leads Afghanistan in multidimensional poverty. Tinubu has added an additional 5.3 million Nigerians in multidimensional poverty.
In the latest report, Nigeria’s multidimensional poverty rose from 33% in 2021 to 38.7 per cent in 2024, an increase of 5.7 percentage points.
The poverty scale in Nigeria is underreported.
The number of Nigerians affected increased from 72.21 million to 90.07 million over the period, while the country’s Multidimensional Poverty Index value rose from 0.175 to 0.208, signs of worsening deprivation & acute hunger
While his supporters like Tony Elumelu, Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, & politicians & billionaires are rejoicing & praising the bold reforms for enriching their pockets via macroeconomic gains, 18 million Nigerians quietly slipped into multidimensional poverty. Nigeria is a sharp dichotomy; a place of wicked contradictions.
You have two competing extremes; poverty lives side by side with stupendous wealth. 💔

“I once tried to clear Nigeria’s debt by reaching out to US President Bill Clinton. He was excited to help because of Obasanjo’s story.
Nigeria owed $38 billion. We showed him our data analysis: if we shared all the revenue from oil in a year among Nigerians, each citizen would get just $98.
He said, ‘So you are not that rich?’
But the US Treasury and Congress said, ‘Which Nigeria are you talking about? If you clear their debt while the architecture of corruption remains intact, it will be a moral hazard, and the rascality will be rewarded.’”
— Dr. Oby Ezekwesili
Nigerians, I think this same energy we use on the presidency should be extended to the governors . What exactly are they doing with all the allocations and revenue generated internally. Long been at peace while the president takes all the blame.
