New podcast, w/ @JasonCadee5. • JackJumpers keep rolling. • We go to the film on how Brisbane guarded Bryce Cotton and the 36ers (spoiler: Will Weaver coached his ass off). • Josh Oduro’s monster season thus far. • Skylar Mays. • Andrew Carr. • There also might be a small Boomers-Canada nugget 😎 youtu.be/NsRHctoNemc?si=Qk8K…

Cool first set for Brisbane. Weaver is pleased.

Check the difference. The Bullets made the floor unbelievably small for the 36ers to operate in.

What a sequence from Raul Neto. The no-look to Harrison on the roll + the defensive hustle, dive, putback.

Tyler Robertson with some winning plays vs. Tasmania. (NBL officials love soft rebound contest fouls… still, credit to Robertson for the positioning, body contact, etc in the first clip)

Torrey Craig made life extremely difficult for Taran Armstrong down the stretch; put a ton of heat on the ball up the floor, made it difficult for Tassie to get into their stuff.
What a result for the Sydney Kings; it wasn’t pretty, but they go 2-0 over this road double-header - wins @ PER and @ TAS - with a tight (and awkward) turnaround in between, to move to 7-3 and the top of the #NBL27 ladder. Torrey Craig’s defence on Armstrong (particularly the full-court pickup) changed the game + Robertson/Maluach were huge down the stretch.

This really was a great week of driving + paint touches from Luke Travers. He has a physical and athletic point of difference in the NBL, and he consistently used it this round; was notably more assertive, getting down hill in trans, in the PnR, and general one-on-one situations.

Hell of a minute from Jason Spurgin to end the first half vs Illawarra. Elite one-on-one D against Makur Maker, into a Gortat screen… then the great help D for the block on K. Martin. Big swing for Sydney.

There are 10 Australians - and 1 Kiwi - on NBA rosters going into the opening day of the 2026-27 regular season. From Giddey, to Daniels, to Landale, Proctor, Thybulle, Zikarsky, and more; for @ESPNAusNZ, here’s a look at what to expect from each of them. espn.com.au/nba/story/_/page…

Illawarra Hawks with back-to-back back picks leading to alley-oop dunks for Makur Maker to end the 3rd Q.

Respectfully, we can’t have a crew chief making this call. Second time we’ve seen it this round.

Probably the liveliest Goorj presser of #NBL27 thus far.

Makuach Maluach vs Brisbane: 19 points (8/12 FG, 3/5 3PT). Through 3 games, Maluach is averaging 16.0 ppg, on 17/23 FG (79.3%) and 8/11 3PT (72.7%). Fully acknowledging the incredibly small sample size + iffy competition, that’s an insane 93.6% TS. Impressive start to #NBL27.
