Last on my various ADHD rambles today, just a single post. Anyone wanting to know more about ADHD (not necessarily management but what it is), should take the time to watch this video series. The *single* best and most detailed explanation ever. youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…

For those still following virology this isn't great for bird flu. Short version - known possible adaptation for mammal transmission mutation spotted in a human case, when seasonal flu has started early as well.
PB2 A676T. That's not good.

It's not some kind of alarm bell, it should be stressed - of the known mammalian advantageous mutations, this one is a minor one - but reason for those in the know to watch it more closely. My read anyway.

Note - reference to seasonal flu is around the heightened risk of reassembly between the two viruses. Not a time you want a heightened risk of avian flu itself.

Very disappointed by the "generational" NHS health review of autism, ADHD and mental health in young people released today. Many, many flaws. 1/n

I agree in part there is risk of overdiagnosis. But the issue is support, and also unscrupulous private providers. And it is very overblown. It is *not* due to observed elevated diagnosis rates against a flawed, 9 year old survey. 12/end

Sorry I want to correct this. I don't think there is risk of *overdiagnosis* at a national scale. These are still in the general under diagnosed conditions. I think there is a risk of *incorrect* diagnoses, at an individual level. Which is very different.

I know I still have a few COVID followers floating around. Read with interest @MichaelSFuhrer analysis on endemnic levels and downward trajectory. But, anecdata warning ..feels absolutely rife right now? Vibes only but haven't heard of so many at once since 2022. Anyone else?

Incidentally I have it again (confirmed) and the whole household has gone down with it which is the first time that's happened. Wonder if the new variant, with now relatively broad immunity, has gone the other route and increased intrinsic attack rate? Any data on this?

(for those still remotely interested in this stuff this is my third confirmed, and given I test regularly when symptomatic, just for interest not concern, I'd be reasonably sure it's 3 total - in a high exposure group so ties in well with Michael's analysis on total infections)
