American Military bases were hit with a suspected cyber attack, resulting in simultaneous freezer failures in late August:
•Ft Irwin
•F.E. Warren
•Ft Huachuca
•Naval Station Newport
•Columbus Air Base
•Travis Air Base
At least six commissaries affected.
At Fort Huachuca the freezers didn’t just die—they went into defrost mode overnight and heated the food until it was spoiled.
The Pentagon is now treating it as a suspected cyberattack.
Cyber Command and Army investigators are involved and coordinating with French authorities after a nearly identical attack hit hundreds of French supermarkets this month, where hackers remotely turned up refrigerator temperatures and ruined food.
Internet-connected refrigeration systems just became a national security issue…A.I. is able to find, and penetrate vulnerabilities, which assist already seasoned hackers.
The preparedness boom makes a little more sense.
