One of my angel investments just got acquired! 🎉🙌🏿 Time to update my Divi dashboard! No big exit headline. Just a founder who pivoted, ran low on cash, self-funded operations, and found a landing spot for their team, tech, and investors' equity.

Four years ago, I wrote a check because I believed in how this founder saw a problem. Today, I'd write another because I've seen how they respond when the problems keep coming. Congratulations to the team. If you build again, I hope I get the call. 🙌🏿🙏🏿

Excited to see Divi continue to grow! 🚀Founders, if you're getting ready for a raise, claim your page and start organizing your investor targets at divi.fund/startups!

Shout-out to @starslingdev 🚀 We moved Divi's CI over and our test runs are now ~4x faster, down to 6–7 minutes. Faster feedback = faster shipping for our users (investors). If your team lives in GitHub Actions, check them out. h/t @yonasbe and team! My CTO sent me this:

Not all speed is created equal. Speed, my limited-series podcast, just wrapped today. Six founders joined me, and so much of what they said has stuck with me. @OneBandwagonFan said speed is how you demonstrate intention. Go quiet for three months, and it says something about your focus. Matt Curtis's rule: make being wrong cheap, so iterating fast turns being wrong into information instead of an ego hit. @ybernstein put it bluntly: if the engine isn't in good condition, it doesn't matter how hard you mash the accelerator. When a team slows down, fix the root cause. Jesse Stinebring made the case that speed and quality aren't a trade-off. Done right, speed gets you to higher quality faster. For @anna_shedletsky, leading from the front undermines ownership, and ownership is how you scale outcomes. @DavidBaszucki's magic quadrant is doing two things at once: holding the long view and getting stuff done. Every other quadrant, he says, is dangerous. I reflect on all of these conversations in Episode 8, the finale. Listen here: speed.buzzsprout.com/ If you’ve enjoyed the series, please share or leave a review wherever you listen. That helps more people find the show.

I had high hopes for my limited series podcast SPEED, but it's delivered more than I had imagined. And that's all because of my guests. I asked six founders the same question: what type of speed matters? I was expecting to hear some great tactical advice, and I did. But a pattern emerged that truly surprised me: every founder is trying to compress latency in one way or another. These founders are building different businesses and operating at different levels of scale. But they’re all working on the same problem: how to reduce the time from action to mission progress. That is Mission Speed. This synthesis contains the collective wisdom of my guests, and it is one of the best resources I’ve seen on the speed you really need in startups: keithvlucas.com/frameworks/s… If you care about speed and want to learn from people living it, I encourage you to read and share the synthesis. Huge thanks to my guests @OneBandwagonFan, Matt Curtis, @ybernstein, Jesse Stinebring, @anna_shedletsky, and @DavidBaszucki for the conversations.

Today I launched MoDDA: The Museum of Diasporan Digital Art. I also wrote about why I’m building it and what we choose to preserve. Read: proofofculture.substack.com/… Inaugural Exhibit 👉🏾 modda.org/proof-of-culture

The Proof of Culture exhibit is now open at MoDDA: The Museum of Diasporan Digital Art. From 2020 to 2023, Black artists across the diaspora used digital tools to make art, tell stories and build new spaces for their work. Walk through that moment: modda.org/proof-of-culture

Thanks to @drewhburdick and the team for having me on the podcast! We're about 6 months into building Divi, and it's so clear that Product specialists are having a moment thanks to technology, industry expertise, and unique taste. youtu.be/DmteEgR4Tu4?si=nOVe…

I shared my WHY behind building Divi, why NOW is the best time to get started building (and investing), and what entrepreneurs should know about building in 2026, and beyond. Let me know what y'all think about the episode!

The equation that matters!
Catching up with one of my single homegirls (HBCU grad, Dr., loves travel and food) last night and we talked how much dating apps suck. Now we're building her a personal blind date app with AI.

I was wrapping up a meeting. The investor asks if I already sent them access to the data room. Nope. I'll just flip your role to Prospect on Divi. He went from check out the public page at divi.fund/c/divi to having the materials in a second. Role-based info resolution!
