💜 Thank you @OneNationTas Women Speak Tasmania thanks One Nation Tasmania for making the recognition of biological reality one of its core principles. Principle 11: Respect Biological Reality “Uphold biological sex as a scientific fact to protect sex-based rights and sports, and keep sexual identity out of primary school classrooms.” We welcome this clear commitment to recognising biological sex, protecting women's and girls' sex-based rights and ensuring that primary school education remains age-appropriate. These are important issues that deserve honesty, clarity and leadership. Thank you, One Nation Tasmania, for making this a core principle. 💜 Women Speak Tasmania

Councils treat your rates like confetti, throwing them at virtue-signalling while roads crumble and rates soar. I'm putting a stop to it. My bill will force South Australian councils back to roads, rates and rubbish.

Probably, but that is the future under the conversion laws. The Greens model their bill to be similar to Victoria and then added stuff to make it worse

The supposedly impartial Director-General of the ABC, Hugh Marks, has not for the first time taken aim at One Nation. This time, over Bluey! He cannot hide his contempt for One Nation and its voters. He exists in a parallel universe from most everyday Australians. That would be his right if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s head of our taxpayer-funded national broadcaster.

LAFO must watch. #politas #auspol I would like to thank the honourable member Mike Gaffney for his contribution to the upper house during the firearms amendment bill debate and it is especially important that all views are presented into parliament and not be agenda based. Unfortunately, hearing many members propping up the fear mongering campaign is not how law should be written or enacted, this is why much to the dismay of many in the firearms industry I am calling for an inquiry to end the agenda and propaganda when it comes to firearms legislation. @ShootersUnion
Tasmanian firearms debate continues and it’s an absolute mess. #politas @ShootersUnion

🚨 WHO SHOULD BE EXEMPT FROM LEGAL LIABILITY UNDER THE CONVERSION PRACTICES BILL? During the parliamentary debate on the Greens' Conversion Practices Bill, Greens MP Rosalie Woodruff opposed excluding teachers and counsellors from legal liability. Why should teachers and counsellors be left exposed to potential legal consequences when working with children and young people? Tasmanians deserve to understand the implications of this legislation. Protecting children must not come at the expense of responsible professional judgement. Who is really being protected by this Bill? Where is @TasmanianLabor ?

Wouldn’t it be fantastic to see the preaching in action by @TasmanianGreens of helping those doing it tough by supporting the game meat donation bill #politas @NickMcKim @CassyOConnorMLC could increase their community pantry to provide healthy clean rich protein for many of those with food insecurity. It would be wonderful to see @TasLiberal @TasmanianLabor come together as they already do in supporting food banks and charity photo ops by standing united in a common sense approach for deer management instead of the poisoning our wildlife with 1080 poisons, pertinent to point out the petition from @TabathaBadger calling for said poison to be banned. @BridgetArcher25 would no doubt have had many briefings on the importance of food and the impact on health, is it not why we have the school lunch program? I’m sure @EricAbetzMP and @DeanWinterMP could agree we could fund a pilot program as suggested in the submission briefing of the bill provided. We’ve heard many a time in parliament @JenButlerLyons @janiefinlay @craiggarlandind @DavidOByrneMP all talk about deer management, however it seems to just go around in circles, would they rather see inhumane poison be used or utilised such an excellent resource. @bj_stansfield @swegen31 @LeonCompton all covering this subject along with many others over the years but for some reason haven’t highlighted we could be doing better for our community and environment when it comes to deer management. As the new leader @Shane_Broad would you support the game meat donation bill I provided? Let’s do better everyone @ShootersUnion
Replying to @ChristineMilne
Unfortunately yourself and others may not know @ChristineMilne #politas that the game status is irrelevant since crop protection permits allows year round unlimited culling. So this begs the question do you support the use of 1080 poison because that’s what will happen if the status were changed. Think about ramifications rather than agendas please.

🚨 Rosalie Woodruff, whose parents are you choosing to hear? @TasmanianGreens @jeremyrockliff @GuyBarnett @abcnews @pulsetasmania @OneNationTas Today, Greens MP Rosalie Woodruff shared an ABC story featuring 28 parents of transgender and gender-diverse children urging Tasmanian MPs to pass the Greens' Conversion Practices Bill. Rosalie speaks of protecting children from harm. But what about the parents whose experiences do not fit the narrative she and the Greens are promoting? 💔 Women Speak Tasmania has collected heartbreaking testimonies from parents whose children have experienced gender dysphoria. These parents describe the confusion, distress and sense of loss as they watched their children struggle. They speak of family relationships fractured, children harmed and parents left devastated, isolated and desperately searching for help. These parents are not asking for their children to be coerced in any direction. They want a holistic approach, careful assessment, genuine psychological support and the freedom to take time — including watchful waiting — without being pressured towards a predetermined outcome. We provided these testimonies to the Attorney-General Guy Barnett. We also made them available to the ABC journalist covering this issue. Yet their stories remain unheard. Why has the ABC not sought to interview these parents? Why not hear from parents associated with PAGD NSW Genspect Why are only certain parents being given a platform? Rosalie Woodruff, the Greens, the ABC, the Mercury and other media outlets: Are you afraid to hear the other side of this story? You cannot claim to speak for all parents while ignoring those whose experiences challenge your position. There is a relentless campaign to portray opposition to this Bill as opposition to protecting children. That is simply not true. We have the testimonies. We have heard these parents. We know their pain. These families deserve to be heard. Their children deserve protection, careful and compassionate care, and the opportunity to grow up without being rushed into life-altering decisions. Children are not political pawns. Parents should not have to fight to have their voices heard. And the media has a responsibility to report the whole story, not just the one that suits its preferred narrative. Women Speak Tasmania will not turn away from these families.

🎉 WE REACHED 4,000 SIGNATURES! 💜💛 Exactly two weeks ago today, we launched our petition calling for a parliamentary inquiry into conversion practices in Tasmania. We hoped for a good response, but honestly, we never imagined we would reach 4,000 signatures. We weren’t even sure we would get to 1,000! The response has been overwhelming, and we are incredibly grateful. This has been a remarkable show of public support for proper scrutiny of the Greens’ Conversion Practices Bill. At this rate, we might even reach 6,000 signatures if we extended the petition for another week. But we are not going to move the goalposts to suit an agenda. Our petition closes on 26 October, as planned. We will stand by that deadline. 💜 A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has signed and shared our petition, including the @ACLobby , @genspect , @lgballiance_aus , @OneNationTas , and the many other organisations, medical and legal experts, parents, teachers, politicians and Tasmanians who have supported this call. A special thank you to @fergusonmichael , our parliamentary sponsor, for supporting the petition. Four thousand signatures in just two weeks sends a clear message: Tasmanians want this legislation properly examined before it goes any further. Now it is up to Premier @jeremyrockliff to step forward and support a full parliamentary inquiry into conversion practices, including the opportunity for people with relevant experiences to give confidential, in-camera testimony. Legislation should be based on evidence, not assumptions or political pressure. We should not pass flawed laws hoping to patch the problems later, after the damage has been done. Good legislation must be built on sound foundations, with proper scrutiny, consultation and consideration of the consequences. Evidence-based policy should be the standard we strive for. The wellbeing of children, families and the wider Tasmanian community deserves nothing less. 💜 Once again, thank you to every person who has helped us reach this milestone. Your support matters, and every signature counts. ✍️ HAVE YOU SIGNED YET? 👉 haepetitions.parliament.tas.… 📢 Sign and share before the petition closes on 26 October. ⚠️ Tasmanian residents only. #WomenSpeakTasmania #Tasmania #ProtectChildren #EvidenceBasedPolicy
