Halloween presents an interesting anomaly in human behavior.
Once a year, individuals deliberately assume alternate identities, interact with imaginary realities, and celebrate the experience.
The remaining 364 days, they do essentially the same thing but insist it's their personality.
Dreams complicate the investigation further. The brain constructs entire environments, invents conversations, assigns emotional significance, and rarely bothers to inform the operator that the simulation is running.😉
Which raises an uncomfortable question:
If recognizing the costume is what makes Halloween fun, what happens when we recognize the costumes we wear while awake?

People who had ever used cannabis tended to have larger brain volume in key areas that are full of natural cannabis-like receptors (especially the hippocampus, amygdala, caudate, and putamen – these areas are important for memory, emotions, learning, and movement).

Somewhere between the first bite and the complete abandonment of conversational responsibilities, it became apparent that dinner had exceeded its original specifications.
Precision engineering. Architectural elegance. Wasabi-assisted enlightenment.
Not Japan but I did have flashbacks. No sea bream but there were mini lobsters. The craftsmanship undeniable. The self-control largely theoretical.
Final assessment: Humanity remains a deeply confusing species, but whoever figured out how to put fresh fish on a little pillow of rice deserves our collective admiration.
