Fun Facts About Omar Muhammad Idris Haji Ali Goret‼️ Ethnically, he was Oromo. He was well known as Beni-Amer. For years, his photo was used as an iconic image on the Ethiopian calendar. He was born in Wollega, in the Oromia region. He traveled north with his family when his father was stationed at the military facility in Assab, which was designated as the Assab Naval Station. He then moved to Tesseney when he was an adult. In 1965, American photojournalist James P. Blair captured Omar’s picture.
