Here is the list that I piloted in the Cool Stuff Orlando Showdown Even though I whiffed Best of by some bad breakers, I do think my list was the best in the room. I do think the deck can beat Kennen however as always if they hit the nuts and you do not have the right counterspell to answer them you are gonna have a bad time. I feel this deck is good into Riven and the fact I beat 3 of them (2 of them 2-0) when losing the dice roll is a good sign. I do think a second Blitz in the sideboard is warranted though. If the strategy is not clear, we go Hunter's Circle game 1 and try to high roll drawing Sneaky for an easier game 1 in case we lose the dice roll. Between hidden cards and gust you can set up an early hold. If you win the dice roll, it is even better because you're starting off 2 points ahead and +1 card. After game 1, sideboarding is relatively simple as 3 of the cards (Sneaky) are automatically coming out to make room for the 2 drops and Innovator. Here is a breakdown of my matchups for the tournament. An important factor is that I only won 4 of 11 dice rolls: R1 - Kai'Sa 0-2 Opponent won the dice roll on Rockfall game, which for us is essentially unwinnable without a miracle. He had double smokescreen falling star to clear my hold mid game and close my game off completely. Game 2 he closed the game out with Brynhir and a ton of units when I had 6 cards of interaction and 2 hidden strangers holding at 6, so yeah Brynhir is a cool card I guess. Unfavored matchup R2 - Kennen 2-0 Lost dice roll. I believe I won this match because opponent did not see Rhasa's. He saw 2 Nocturnes turn 1 game 1, honestly I have no clue how I won but I guess we can thank Heron. Game 2 he lost by not conquering to 7 and trying to hold and keep me off the battlefields. That's a big no-no against Vex. R3- Rengar 2-0 Won dice roll. This should be favored but a good Rengar can steal games from you so play very tight if you misplay once you will lose the game on the spot. R4 - Volibear Aurora 2-0 Won the dice roll. Did not expect to see this, but if it's not Jayce we are low cortisol R5 - Irelia 1-2 Lost the dice roll and got giga high rolled otherwise this was for sure a win for us. R6 - Lillia 2-1 Lost dice roll. This should have been a 2-0, but I could not find interaction for the life of me to deal with the green Akali game 1. R7 - Riven 2-0 Lost dice roll. I believe we were both very tired and not playing our best, he made a big misplay game 1 with sword math and game 2 I was able to kill his Riven very early with a Switcheroo and Defy on his Not So Fast. R8 - Evelynn 2-0 Won the dice roll. We are the better hold deck. R9 - Riven 2-0 Lost the dice roll. Opponent was running 2 Barons which was scary. I dealt with the first one then closed the game out with my second one g1 in a very tight 7-7 game. Game 2 I Blitz his Riven early and he could never recover. R10 - Riven 2-1 @IllaoiWowi Lost the dice roll. This was by far the best Riven I played against. Played against Holden who is a very chill person and strong player, we had a good time and great match even though the stress level and stakes were high. Game 1 was very rough on the double Hunters Circle game, I did not find Sneaky and he was able to do some nasty stuff with Blitz this game. Baron closed the game out. Game 2 he had gust and I was very far behind, but I was able to take some time to develop and I won the Heron battle royale. Boots MVP this game. Game 3 he is going first on Star Spring which is usually unwinnable for us. I mulligan'd hard for Blitz and found him, and was able to trade with his Riven turn 2 which I highly recommend you always do against Riven. This slowed the game down a ton and I was able to get back into the game even though I went second. R11 - Kennen 0-2 (streamed game on @RunesAndRift) Won the dice roll and opened Sneaky Deckhand. But sadly this did not matter because opponent knew exactly what to do against me and hit double Nocturne early. Also had double star crossed. I had no defy to answer the double star crossed. I think I misplayed slamming Heron to tap out and should have been more conservative and just held up for more interaction. I did not expect the second star crossed main board. Game 2 we went first on Startipped but opponent had 2 drop + gust so we had to use Defy early unfortunately to get onto the battlefield. Back Off kept us on the battlefield but we were already behind because Nocturne hit the board early. All in all, I think Vex is in a decent spot in the meta and my take on the deck is the best way to build it if you are interested in playing it at any skirmishes. It does have some unfavored matchups (Kai'Sa, Kennen) but nothing feels unwinnable and I do believe she is favored into Riven.
