Preseason 2027 NBA Draft Big Board. Got words on the incoming freshman below⏬, if you missed the other piece that came out earlier this week check that out too!
Bobby Durkin one of my favorite breakout candidates for CBB's 26-27 season. 6'7" 220lbs shooter that has great priors. Smashed my metric, was 10th overall in conference play onwards last season. Has similar traits of a Hauser type.
His defensive profile is pretty much a 2nd PG . Gotta hope he keeps improving on O, don’t need to be overly positive just be quicker making decisions and keep hitting the O glass.
I also asked Jordan Walsh about how his advice from Paul George is paying dividends.
While Walsh has gone to him to help with parts of his offense, like his pull-up jumper, like Hauser, he pointed to George helping him grow on defense:
“I think it's definitely showed up in other ways for sure, other than just offense.
“Like he's a really good defender as well, and so a lot of his advice, yeah, we talk about offense a lot, getting to your shot, being confident with it. But there's certain closeout techniques and steal techniques that he does, I'm trying to figure out as well. So, using that in games as well has been helpful.”
This is just how OKC offense functions. It’s to maximize Ajay and Mccain’s shoot first attributes. It looks especially ugly without Chet/Caruso giving the Thunder a defensive floor. Lack of secondary playmaking makes it easy to defend too.
Marks offense not really capable to make this team work, gotta be reoriented. Shai will make it fine most nights, but this team is a lot worse than I thought.
Boston's handler economy is their most interesting aspect 100 minutes into the season. Joe tripled down on off-ball movement rather than trying to reverb on the duties Payton and White had last year. This has allowed Tatum & Paul to have career best Scoring TOV% by a landslide.
Further examination on White, he still coo even if he not blocking shots rn. Good STL rate and been drawing offensive fouls. Obviously the priors gonna come with him too in terms of turnovers and other stuff.
Of course Joe doesn’t utilize this in OT ✌️✌️✌️
The 3 man combination of Tatum - Paul - Hauser is some of the best hoops of this current Celtics era.
The bigs will get better, but I’ll keep harping on the guards. It’s so easy to play with 2 to 3 of these guys on the floor, getting a real playmaker would complete this team.
I’m Celtic wing pilled man. Got too many effective wings to not have real guard play anymore. Brad gotta be seeing this, it’s the last piece for this team.
