I remember when web3 became a thing and I asked my friends what it meant. Nobody could give me a straight answer. So I asked someone else. He told me to download Metamask, X, Bybit, Telegram and Discord; that was web3 according to him. He wasn't totally wrong, those are some of the tools. But I wanted to understand the CONCEPT, not just download apps. I went to ChatGPT. Still didn't get it. I literally told it to explain web3 like it was talking to a donkey 😭 and I still left confused. And I know some of you have been in that same position. You've seen a friend say "I just started learning web3." Or you're scrolling X and someone posts a win with the caption "web3 did" You nodded along like you understood. But honestly… what even is it? Let me break it down properly 🧡✍️
