The historical Jesus is cool and all, but the more I research the bare history my Sunday school Superman Jesus slips away more and more and becomes smaller and smaller within the grand scheme of things. and I feel a sort of disenchantment with Christianity :/
I think I just need to read my Bible more. That’s the issue. I neglected spiritualness, im just super worldly. and i made Jesus and align my politics, but I haven’t aligned with him spiritually so I aligned with him worldly but not spiritually so I feel spiritually void.

Replying to @CatholicSOTC
“You shall not bear false witness against thy neighbour” (Exodus 20:16).
Your article is misleading and unfair to Pope Leo XIV.
Yes, the Pope did not explicitly name Jesus Christ in this particular address, but omitting His name is not equivalent to denying Him or promoting syncretism. In the full speech, Pope Leo invokes God as the giver of peace, calls for prayer, quotes the Catechism of the Catholic Church (§2315), and concludes with Christ’s own words in Matthew 5:9: “Blessed are the peacemakers.”
The Pope’s reference to peace as a “guiding star” concerns our choices in a world threatened by war, not the replacement of Christ as humanity’s Saviour.
Nowhere does Pope Leo proclaim that all religions are equally true or equally salvific. To suggest religious indifferentism merely because he did not explicitly name Christ is an unwarranted theological leap.
People should read the actual speech : vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…
