Inspired by the Live Art Auction we did with @OtherGamesXYZ x @OsPhotoClub, I had an idea:
What if we could bring that same experience into an MML world, powered by onchain data and live bids?
In this build, the artwork being auctioned is displayed on the right side. Below it, there’s a live leaderboard showing the highest bidders, bid amount and wallet who did the bid. And the best part: you can increase your bid directly from Otherside.
How do bids work?
For testing, I used the Arbinaut collection because it was easy to access multiple NFTs, but this can easily work with another collection too.
To bid on the artwork, you go to the OTHERSIDE MARKETPLACE and list the NFT connected to the bidding mechanic.
Every new listing increases your bid by +100 APE on the leaderboard.
In the video, you can see @md_codes list one Arbinaut and instantly enter 3rd place in the MML world. Then I list another one, and the leaderboard updates my bid by +100 APE too.
The numbers you see on the leaderboard at the start are from earlier tests, not placeholders. 2nd place is @tierra_bt, who helped me test it earlier by listing an Arbinaut on the Otherside Marketplace.
I also added something extra:
Imagine you’re streaming the auction and want to show what people are saying during the event inside Otherside.
So I integrated the OTHERSIDE API to display real-time chat directly inside the MML world. You can see it on the left side of the screen, updating whenever someone writes a message.
Lastly, once the highest bidder can no longer be outbid, we trigger the button in the middle and the auction status changes to SOLD.
