It’s the 88th birthday of one of my favourite people: the great actor Sir Derek Jacobi. If you want to hear Sir Derek at his most charming, full of delicious theatrical stories, listen to his episode of Rosebud: rosebudpodcast.co.uk, or watch on @YouTube.
As of tomorrow (Saturday), Talking Pictures TV (Freeview 82) will be starting to show the 1978 TV series Lillie in which Francesca Annia plays Lillie Langtry and Peter Egan plays #OscarWilde.

Yes, that's because this is my portrait of David Lynch, rather than Oscar Wilde? I was just quoting him. But while we're here, here's my interpretation of Mr Wilde :)

Our Wilde Wit #competition is on! Write an epigram, witticism or statement that sounds like something #OscarWilde would have said. It can reflect modern sensibilities too. (oscarwildesociety.co.uk/wild…) Win a signed copy of After Oscar, by Wilde’s grandson, Merlin Holland.
