- The main meeting place in the heart of villages of the culturally rich Dogon Community where village elders discuss/resolve various issues/problems of their community.
- Its low roof has multiple purposes: to promote humility & equality, make people sit down and talk in a relaxed manner, minimize the chances of disagreements turning into physical altercations;
- The roof is made of a thick mat of millet straw;
- The pillars supporting the roof are generally made of wood on which there are carvings of Dogon motifs;
- It also provides the much-needed shade and relief from the scorching Sun;
We thank our dear Sister Souadou Diabaté for an enlightening visit to her beautiful skills-learning centre for young girls, boys and elders, "Centre Football for Hope Souadou Diabaté de Baguinéda". A centre dedicated also to sustainable lifestyles and development. More power to her🙏
