This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the places that still don’t care who you voted for or how much money you make—the deer stand at 4 a.m. when the world is quiet except for our own breathing, the duck blind when the sky turns fire. The birds come screaming in, the ridge line is where the only thing judging us is the wind and our aching bodies. We’re thankful for cold hands that still work a call, calloused fingers that can still work a reel, for our dogs that love us more than we deserve, for kids learning that meat doesn’t come from a store, and for the wisdom that patience is measured in seasons, not minutes.
Mostly, we’re grateful for all of you who get it—who know that out there, under open sky, we’re reminded we’re small, but we’re also part of something ancient and real. That’s worth raising a coffee (or something stronger) to.
Happy Thanksgiving, hunters, anglers, backcountry adventurers, and all of you dirt-road souls, from all of us here at OutdoorHub. Stay safe, shoot straight, and pass it on.
