I'm shutting down @ToknDeal After a lot of back and forth with myself, I've decided to stop building ToknDeal. For those who never used it: ToknDeal was a trustless P2P OTC platform for NFT trading. Two people agree on a deal, the contract settles it, nobody has to trust anybody. It ran on ApeChain and Ethereum also prepared to live on Robinhood, launched with 0% royalty fees, and had a referral and royalty layer built in so collections would earn from trades that happened outside the usual marketplaces. The stack works. It's live, it's audited by a 3rd party and works cross-chain. So why stop? 1. It never found the users. I believed OTC trading was underserved and that people wanted a trustless way to do the deals they were already doing in DMs. Some did. Not enough. I can build something, but I can't make people want it. 2. Bigger players shipped the same thing. When teams with more distribution and more capital move into your lane, the question stops being "is my product good" and becomes "can I outspend them for attention." I can't, and pretending otherwise would just cost me more. 3. I put a serious amount of time and money into this. Months of building, infra costs, audits, outreach to founders, debugging cross-chain transactions at 2am. It didn't come back. What happens now: If anyone wants to buy the platform, reach out. Contracts, frontend, infrastructure, documentation all of it. It's a working product, not a concept. Somebody with better distribution than me could do something real with it. If nobody does, I'll open-source the whole thing. I'd rather it be useful to builders than sit dead in a private repo. Trustless OTC is still a problem worth solving and there's no reason the work should go to waste. To everyone who used it, tested it, gave feedback, or told a friend about it thank you. That part meant something to me 💙
