PANews Feature | Ledger’s Supply Chain Scare Is Shaking Trust in Hardware Wallets Your Keys, Your Crypto. But Can You Trust Your Device? A hardware wallet bought to protect your private keys could itself contain a backdoor. More suspected tampering cases have surfaced in the Ledger supply chain incident, prompting community scrutiny of additional resellers, though those risks remain unconfirmed. @Ledger says all confirmed thefts involve devices sold through CryptoBilis, while its own systems and direct sales channels remain unaffected. @OneKeyHQ and @Trezor have revoked the reseller’s authorization, with broader channel reviews underway at some manufacturers. What gaps does this incident expose in tamper protection and reseller oversight, and how can wallet makers rebuild user trust? #Ledger #HardwareWallet #CryptoSecurity #SelfCustody

Weekly Funding Report by PANews | Oct. 5–11 Last week, funding across the crypto and AI sectors became increasingly concentrated in a handful of major deals. In AI, DeepSeek was reportedly nearing a funding round of at least $12 billion, while Moonshot AI’s latest valuation reached approximately $50 billion, with both Chinese model developers reportedly pursuing IPO plans. TypeSafe AI and Manus parent Butterfly Effect also raised hundreds of millions of dollars, highlighting continued investor appetite for foundation models and the commercialization of AI applications. In crypto, the global blockchain sector recorded 11 funding deals totaling more than $219 million. Investment continued to expand into RWA, stablecoin payments and traditional financial infrastructure, while established business models such as exchanges and digital asset insurance attracted institutional capital. OKX secured fresh funding at a $25 billion valuation. According to @tiger_research_ 's Q3 2026 Crypto Industry Investment Report, M&A deal counts remained stable, but smaller transactions displaced large acquisitions as buyers prioritized specific capabilities in licensing, payments and institutional trading. #AI #Crypto #Blockchain #Funding #VentureCapital #Stablecoins

PANews Feature | South Korea’s Crypto Paradox: High Adoption, Low Competitiveness South Korea ranks fifth globally in crypto adoption, with $449.1 billion in annual crypto activity, yet places 12th among 15 jurisdictions in a separate competitiveness assessment, and last in cross-border openness. Bank-issued, real-name accounts gate access to the fiat trading market, while two exchanges control over 90% of market share. A domestic ICO ban has pushed local projects to issue tokens offshore. Banks, securities firms, and tech giants are now moving in, but rules governing corporate crypto investment and won-denominated stablecoins remain unsettled. Can strong retail demand translate into homegrown innovation and global competitiveness? #SouthKorea #Crypto #CryptoRegulation #Stablecoins
