Me: Martin Luther, stop that! Do NOT initiate the early modern period of European history!!
Martin Luther, hammering theses onto a door: Well first off, depending on your definitions that isn’t even what I’m doing.
No matter how bleak things look I refuse to be a doomer for 3 reasons:
1. It’s most likely gonna be fine. You know how many times throughout history people have thought it’s the end? And yet here we are. Zoom out a little
2. I have an unwavering, borderline delusional belief in my ability to figure it out, whatever “it” is. You should absolutely be moving through life with this attitude
3. If we actually are cooked why would I waste even one second of my remaining time worrying about it? Y’all have fun stressing over headlines I’m going skiing

I’m an ancient historian, not a political pundit, but my two cents. With the richest man failing to earn political prestige at home, I expect Musk will now attempt to lead an army into Parthia.

Haley Stevens really jumped from her perfectly nice spot on a lifeboat *onto* the Titanic *after* it had hit the iceberg.

Absolutely brutal from a BYD spokesman on designing cars for European conditions.

this would’ve been a perfect gay halloween costume and it’s actually cruel of her to pull a stunt like this after the holiday
NEW: We just spoke exclusively with Congresswoman Haley Stevens at a polling place in Birmingham Michigan as she came to cast her ballot for Republican Mike Rogers. She told us she’s here to vote with her mother and that she still believes Democrats will win the majority, “It's the people's day. And I told this to our next speaker of the house, Hakeem Jeffries: It's Majority Makers Day.”
I asked if given the backlash she’s receiving from her Rogers endorsement, whether she feels it was worth it and she told me “Absolutely. Voting is always worth it, right?”

Monday night and campaign staffers are thinking what they would’ve done differently. Stop worrying. What’s done is done. The only thing you ingrates can do now is blame comms.

agents have successfully invented the EU from first principles
Replying to @ycombinator
The agents didn’t figure out how to systematically feed themselves, but they did build an elaborate bureaucracy with permits, ledgers, and distinct roles. Highlights include:
- Four agents spending 11 minutes appointing a “sole fertilizer operator” for a single piece of bone meal
- Multiple agents asking for permission to remove grass
- The development of an elaborate fishing system, including roles like “rod holder” and “hub steward”)
