The FIA says an unprecedented combination of low engine speed, low-grip conditions, wet-weather energy management settings & the circuit's configuration led to the unintended loss of power for some cars during the formation lap. The FIA then sent everyone an updated software release.

For context… So we may not see any wet running, because the cars have to go so slowly in the wet, the turbos stop spooling. You then need to use all the battery hoping it re-spools. If that drains, it basically totally shuts down, then you have to turn it off and on again 😂

“Monza will be a challenging circuit for energy management. Deployment will be very limited & sensitivity to energy is among the highest of the season. Harvesting opportunities are limited & to minimise super clip, the FIA harvest limits are the lowest of the season.” Williams’ preview for Monza sounds very daunting.
