We support @CMSGov's goal of lowering drug prices for all Americans, but it is critical that it is done in ways that respect existing statutory safeguards against #QALYs and work for all Americans.

The GLOBE Model finalized today imports QALYs. Call it a benchmark or a threshold, a price or reimbursement, it’s still using the QALY-based values from other countries in Medicare. #ValueOurHealth #MFNHurtsPatients pipcpatients.org/news/pipc-s…
PIPC issued the following statement in response to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) finalized the Global Benchmark for Efficient Drug Pricing (GLOBE) model that would impose so-called “Most Favored Nation” drug pricing in Medicare Part B.

Whether it’s adopted into a payment price, benchmark, coverage policy, or reimbursement incentive, reliance on QALY-based policy is the wrong approach for patients and people with disabilities.

Crystal enjoyed her life and job in the Netherlands but could not access the medications she needed to maintain her quality of life. She left the Netherlands and moved back to the U.S. due to inability to access quality care, fearing she would die without access.
