This matters beyond radio. Local broadcasting is part of the glue that holds communities together. Its journalists know their patches &care passionately about the people in them. Lord knows, they’re not doing it for the £ Keep stripping that away &we all become more disconnected

Digital First has become the excuse for deliberate dismantling BBC Local Radio. More clicks. More bite-sized content. Less journalism. Less local. Fewer experienced voices rooted in the communities they serve!! Once that local knowledge & connection is gone, it won’t come back.
