'Star Trek's Michelle Hurd paid tribute to Patrick Stewart: “What to say? How can words describe this feeling? Thank you, Pstew, for being my friend, for being so kind and generous with your heart, for being so funny and vulnerable, and for being so talented and inspiring. Getting cast as Raffi on 'Star Trek Picard' has been a gift that keeps on giving, but the best part was meeting YOU, working with you, and becoming your friend. I am, and always will be, grateful for this amazing experience and adventure we shared. I love you and will miss you, my dear sweet friend. The world lost a great one today... Rest now, Captain, my captain” See more tributes here: deadline.com/lists/patrick-s…

Rebecca Romijn, who co-starred with Patrick Stewart in the “X-Men” movies and is also part of the “Star Trek” universe, pays tribute to the late star: “I feel so grateful to have known him for the last 25 years, and to have been in his orbit… both as a fellow mutant and as a fellow member of Starfleet. He was positively delicious, hilarious, naughty, incredible sense of humor, and that booming voice of his that always spoke to the very back of the room, as every classically trained Shakespearean great needs to master, has always been an inspiration. I send my condolences to his family, and I’ll miss my friend dearly. Rest in peace, Patrick.” variety.com/2026/film/news/p…

Ian McKellen pays tribute to Patrick Stewart, his close friend of many years: “Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love,” McKellen wrote on Instagram. “America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.” “His farewell performance in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is yet to be seen,” McKellen concluded. variety.com/2026/film/news/i…

Elizabeth Banks remembers Patrick Stewart in a tribute: “Patrick Stewart is a legend. His acting talent was not only innate but built from his professionalism, his dedication to craft, his enthusiasm, his generosity, his gentlemanly way of being. He was mischievous and game, always made me laugh and always made a day better. He leaves a treasure trove of work behind and I’m so grateful he came to play w me on 'Charlie’s Angels.' Rest peacefully Patrick. Sending love.” See more tributes here: deadline.com/lists/patrick-s…

Josh Gad remembers Patrick Stewart in a tribute: “In a week where the 'Star Trek' community has already lost one icon, we now lose one of the greatest stars to not only grace an Enterprise, but also the stage and screen. Whether waxing poetic as Jean Luc, sparring at chess with Magneto or ferociously bringing the words of Shakespeare to life on the boards, he was a man for all seasons with a voice that will go down as one of the greatest we’ve ever had. He has boldly gone on indeed. Here’s to the next undiscovered country. RIP.” See more tributes here: deadline.com/lists/patrick-s…

There was something extraordinary about the way Sir Patrick Stewart could make even the most powerful characters feel profoundly human. Whether commanding the bridge of the Enterprise or guiding a generation of young mutants, Sir Patrick Stewart brought a tenderness to his characters that made us feel we knew them. Behind that unmistakable voice was an actor who understood that even the greatest heroes could be uncertain, that strength could exist alongside vulnerability, and that compassion was never a weakness. Over a career spanning more than six decades, his performances became woven into the lives of generations who grew up watching him. As Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Professor Charles Xavier, and so many others, he left us with characters we loved, lessons we carried, and memories we'll always treasure.

Geordi La Forge actor LeVar Burton pays tribute to his “Star Trek” co-star Patrick Stewart: “He was family. There is no other context in which to hold him that makes sense. I am lucky to have known and loved so many of the facets of a soul so rich in talent and generous of heart. Of all the Dames and Knights I’ve known he was deep down-the silliest.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/wil…

Patrick Stewart, the British actor known for his roles in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and the "X-Men" movie franchise, has died. He was 86. A post on his official social media pages noted that Stewart died Wednesday "following a brief and poignant journey" with Alzheimer's and Lewy body dementia. "He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayers, tears, laughter and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all," the statement said. He got his start on stage, joining the Royal Shakespeare Company and, in 1971, making his first Broadway appearance in "A Midsummer Night’s Dream." In the late 1980s, his big break in TV came when he played Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, guiding the Starship Enterprise on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." He reprised the role in the 2020s in the series " Star Trek: Picard." On the big screen, he played Professor Charles Xavier in the 2000 blockbuster "X-Men" and in multiple sequels. In 2001, Stewart became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. Eight years later, he received a knighthood.
