Serious question, is the Afghan army now better equipped than the British army, given the amount of equipment they “inherited” from the US?
Should the UK refresh its analogue infrastructure as part of a program of resilience, using improved hardware (non digital of course), or do we harden our digital infrastructure & protect it?
RMC seems to have nailed the spec for the future UK rifle with the KAC KS1.
Can we afford to buy this for all frontline troops or get a high quality clone under £3k per unit (Inc scopes etc). For a 100k unit buy

Project Grayburn.
Does the UK move to 6mm arc round or persist with 5.56 but look for higher performance rounds such as badlands shell shock or terminal velocity polymer.
6mm arc does seem to hit a sweet spot but may not be worth the logistical effort.

Walking poles are a great aid to walking increasing performance by 40% + so why don’t they infantry use them. They are a useful ancillary tool and help with stabilising shooting, setting up Basra’s & could be used as last line of defence.
Should the military adopt them?
Could uk create a small arms factory at Sheffield forge masters, in collaboration with HK or KAC for UK defence new rifle.
new build line with full automation. I am sure machines can be used for smaller pieces for non weapons purposes. 10k units pa expandable to 20k units
5% will never happen, the European political class are simply waiting out Trump, he will be gone in 3 yrs and they know this.
3.5% in 3 yrs should be the goal that is 0.5% in real terms each yr + whatever they are behind on 2% commitment
We really shouldn’t expect US to pay
Watching I’m a celebrity & whilst I am a big fan of Tony bellow, am blown away by his awareness of the risks involved in his chosen career.
Sport is amazing, we are not “designed” to sit behind desks, but such awareness is rare and should be applauded.
Top bloke & role model
Now that the British army is heading for 75k personnel. Should it adopt the (old) USMC MEU org structure (Inc. transfer of personnel from RAF) to be more effective and deployable?
Would we be better served by having a MEU divisional structure aligned to specific taskings?
Went fishing on the Nadder yesterday, fantastic day - got in car and teenage kicks by the undertones belted out from the radio.

Some years ago I came across the art of Hubert Duprat, a French artist that, in the 1980’s experimented with #EntoArt !
He raised #caddisfly larvae in aquariums full of gold, turquoise, opal, etc.,which the caddisfly used to build their cases.
Thread time!

Bold Britain 3: 4th Industrial Revolution
The future is coming, it is super computers, 3D printing, micro manufacturing, driverless vehicles, mass individual transport, smart cities all powered by vast amounts of electricity and 5G +
Britain can be at the forefront of this 1/2
Bold Britain 2: Energy Security
Britain could easily be energy self sufficient with a considered investment approach
the key to this is the new unpressurised nuclear power stations developed by UK based Matrox energy
these are safer and lower cost than pressurised systems 1/2
