Matters of mutual interest were also discussed in the context of further strengthening Pakistan–Iraq relations.

H.E. Mr. Muhammad Zeeshan Ahmed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Iraq, received Mr. Willem de Jonge, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Iraq, at the Embassy of Pakistan. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the situation and welfare of Pakistani nationals detained in Iraq, as well as humanitarian issues concerning detainees transferred from Syria to Iraq. Discussions also covered matters of mutual interest and avenues for continued coordination between the Embassy and the ICRC on consular and humanitarian concerns.
