It is regrettable that South African policies led to the termination of AGOA for South Africa. This was a predictable and preventable outcome resulting from the rejection by South Africa's government of real concerns raised by the U.S. Government. I remain hopeful that we can find a path forward to address our larger bilateral concerns, but the South African government must understand the gravity of the situation. We know that if America succeeds, so too will South Africa. This is the partnership I will continue to pursue as expeditiously as possible.

#Chooseday- Sibhudu Cave, in the KwaDukuza Municipality, along the Thongathi River is an archaeological site that was occupied between about 100 000 and 38 000 years ago.
There is also evidence of an occupation during the Iron Age, about 500 years ago.

Remember now:
Refugee law is part of international law.
Y’all can’t be celebrating her prize AND trying to chop through the doors of the Constitutional Court with machetes because its judges tell Home Affairs to process asylum applications properly.
“Let me dedicate this award to all of the survivors of international crimes as well as to practitioners and defenders of international justice whose passion and courage continue to ensure that impunity will not be allowed to reign.”
Today Navi Pillay, judge and human rights defender, was awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless dedication to upholding international law.

Pride is more than a celebration. It is a history of protest, resistance and a demand for equality, dignity and freedom.
This Pride Month, SECTION27 reflects on the rights, struggles and realities of LGBTQIA+ people in South Africa from the fight against discrimination to the ongoing struggle for equal access to healthcare, education and justice.

I did a case study on this earlier this year and the more I read about it, the more I respect this community. The narrative that mining brings jobs for locals and development to the area is a false narrative in many respects... also at what cost?
Kudos
