Israel Detains Palestinian American Journalist Naqaa Hamed for Reporting on Settler Terrorism
"Over the past several weeks, Israeli settlers have targeted Hamed with a wave of incitement on Telegram channels and in Hebrew media following her coverage of an Israeli siege on families in the village of Qusra, according to her colleagues. Hamed is from the village of Beitin, northeast of Ramallah, holds American citizenship, and is married with three young children. Hamed’s family contacted the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem about her arrest but has yet to hear back."
"Hamed’s detention is part of an escalating wave of arrests of Palestinian journalists by Israeli authorities. Nearly 40 journalists are currently in Israeli detention, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS), all of whom were arrested since the start of Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza nearly three years ago. Over half the journalists behind bars are being held in administrative detention, a mechanism that allows Israeli authorities to imprison people indefinitely without charge or trial."

We mourn the loss of Sergeant William Shakin, z”l, a Lone Soldier from Great Neck, New York, who chose to move to Israel and serve in the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade.
William was remembered by those who knew him as a kind and passionate individual who made the courageous decision to serve the Jewish people.
During his military service, he experienced the profound realities of combat, including the devastating loss of fellow soldiers, and carried that weight with him.
His story is a painful reminder that the wounds of war do not always end when the fighting does. The trauma carried by soldiers and veterans can be invisible, deeply personal, and incredibly heavy.
We honor William’s memory, his service, and the sacrifice he made. Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends, and all those who loved him.
May his memory be a blessing.

⭕️ قال أبو عبيدة موجّهًا خطابه إلى زعماء وحكام الأمة العربية: «من قلب المعركة التي تشاهدون تفاصيلها عبر شاشاتكم، إننا لا نطالبكم بالتحرك للدفاع عن أطفال العروبة بتحريك جيوشكم ودباباتكم، لا سمح الله»، في رسالة جاءت خلال واحدة من أكثر مراحل الحرب اشتعالاً.
⭕️ التصريح حمل نبرة لافتة، إذ لم يطالب بتدخل عسكري مباشر، بل عكس استياءً من الاكتفاء بالمشاهدة، واضعًا المسؤولية في إطار أخلاقي وسياسي، ومشيرًا إلى فجوة واسعة بين ما يجري على الأرض وما يقابله من مواقف عربية رسمية.
⭕️ بهذه الكلمات، سعى أبو عبيدة إلى نقل الخطاب من طلب الفعل العسكري إلى مساءلة الموقف ذاته، مؤكدًا أن الصمت، لا الغياب عن القتال، هو جوهر الرسالة التي أراد إيصالها في تلك اللحظة.

⭕️ في 16 أكتوبر 2023، قال أبو عبيدة: «لن تكون #غزة إلا كما كانت دومًا مقبرة لغزاتها، ونقول لهذا العدو: إن رمال غزة ستبتلع عدوها»، وذلك في ذروة المواجهات العسكرية واتساع رقعة القصف على القطاع.
⭕️ جاء التصريح في سياق خطاب يهدف إلى تثبيت صورة غزة بوصفها ساحة استنزاف تاريخية لكل من يحاول اقتحامها، وردا على تهديدات الاحتلال بتنفيذ عملية برية في القطاع بعد أيام من بداية #طوفان_الأقصى.

⭕️ كان أبو عبيدة يختتم بياناته المتلفزة بعبارة ثابتة: "وإنه لجهاد نصر أو استشهاد"، لتكون الخاتمة التي تُلخّص خطابه وتمنحه طابعًا حاسمًا.
⭕️ العبارة لم تكن مجرد جملة إنشائية، بل صيغة مكثفة لفلسفة القتال لدى القسام، تُغلق البيان على ثنائية واضحة: إمّا تحقيق الهدف وإمّا دفع ثمنه الكامل، دون مساحة للحياد أو التراجع.
