Will still pop onto here from time to time looking for specific information or tweets or for game day sports analysis, but the timeline is just too polluted to really hang around anymore. Not replacing my usage here with much yet but will return to tweet a link if I do. Cya!

Anti-LPC people are keen to minimise Carney's achievement. Here's the thing.
A political neophyte heading an exhausted 9-year-old ministry badly bruised by having to govern amid one of history's worst global crises won against a career politician with 30 years of experience...

On K2-18b biosignature detection.
- 2nd independant detection from different instrument
- 0.3% detection error possibility
- Habitable zone (Hate this term but just means it could have liquid water)
- Water Vapor detected in atmosphere
- Not only is Dimethyl Sulfide a biosignatue, its at the consentration we predict a hycean world with life would have
- This chemical must be replinished
I am not an expert on this subject, just relaying what I have digested so far.
Hypersketpticism is good in science. But while it is accurate to say we are not 100% sure K2-18b has life, it is just as accurate to say life is the simplest and most likely explanation for the evidence. In any non-astrobiology science, in such a scenario, we would usually just say that last part outright. Its more likely than not that K2-18b has life.
Awesome!
Other countries should experiment with the model of putting a guy on the debate stage who doesn’t care and has nothing to lose. I think it’s great.
Carney: Learned some in school, more as an adult, not terrible but a little rusty & in need of practice
Blanchet: Native speaker/mother tongue
“Nobody could have predicted this.” is something I’ve heard from many Conservatives about this current political situation, but it’s not really true. Much of what’s transpired could have been predicted; 🧵
I genuinely don't think there is a better example of how Poilievre and his team didn't try to build a team that would attract a very wide coalition of voters than the story with De Jong
To me it seems they thought "we don't need red Tories or older, experienced politicians". And while the "Charest voters" don't indeed represent that many people, they are currently making the difference. Obviously hindsight is 20/20. 3 months ago, the CPC indeed didn't need them. I do believe the CPC made many mistakes but I also can't really get over the fact the Tories are about to win over 40% of the vote and still lose. Nobody could have predicted this. Still, disqualifying De Jong was such a dumbass move
4) It was predictable that the CPC’s character assassination and demolition of Jagmeet Singh’s reputation with voters would hurt the NDP, benefiting the Liberals
This is getting panned but I actually think it’s kind of a clever ad and could really work … if they had an actual actor, or even just a more charismatic person, and not Andrew Scheer for some reason.

Danielle Smith’s comments during her Breitbart interview are antithetical to democracy.
At a moment when our nation is under attack, and our sovereignty is under threat, she put her need for attention above all Albertans and all Canadians.
I'm old enough to know just how fragile this beautiful nation is, and I’ll be damned if I let a reckless, incompetent and unethical Premier undermine what we’ve built here together. 🇨🇦
This is the kind of thing my mom would love. Pure Boomer appeal. Even the cultural references are based in the 70s/80s
