The Pentagon says the firing squad execution of former U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan will be livestreamed, the Associated Press reports. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Wednesday that the execution would be βpublicβ and that people will be able to watch it.
Hasan was convicted and sentenced to death for the 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, that killed 13 people and wounded 32. Hegseth recommended death by firing squad, and the Pentagon announced October 5 that President Donald Trump approved. Acting Secretary of the Army Adam Telle set the execution for 1 p.m. CST on December 3, 2026, at Fort Hood.
