Our justice system is a complete disaster!
New York's top prosecutors had a chance today to answer a simple question, and they couldn't do it. At a gun-safety press conference, a New York Post reporter asked Attorney General Letitia James, Queens DA Melinda Katz and Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez whether any of them ordered prosecutors to downgrade charges to keep illegal immigrants from being deported. They just smiled and blinked. Katz threw her hands up in a shrug, and somebody quickly asked for "other on-topic questions."
The question came from a House Judiciary Committee report released last week. It says Katz told her prosecutors to "exercise extreme caution" with charges against illegal immigrants and not to "get caught up in the label of felonies, misdemeanors." It also says Bronx DA Darcel Clark had staff use "immigration-conscious plea bargaining" and even offer pleas in child sex cases that leave out the child's age as part of the crime. Katz's office later said it never showed leniency to anyone charged with a gun crime.
If these prosecutors weren't bending the law to protect illegal immigrants, it would have been easy to say so right there. A district attorney's job is to protect the people of New York, not to shield criminals, who shouldn't be here, from deportation. When the victims are children, there is no excuse at all. Their silence said more than any answer could.

69 people are dead after one high speed train struck another that was stopped on the tracks in Spain. Officials briefly reported 74 deaths before revising the toll.
Investigators are examining a signal failure and why the moving train was allowed to continue at normal speed. The cause is still under investigation. Prayers for the victims, their families, and everyone affected.

You realize everything Americans face now stems from the failed Biden administration and its war on Americans. It’s not an easy fix.
So when do we get perp walks?
Americans are being told we need massive data centers to beat China in AI. That’s the pitch behind fast-tracking this buildout.
Now China’s STAR 50, packed with tech and semiconductor leaders, has fallen about 40% in under four months, wiping out roughly $480 billion in market value.
That doesn’t mean AI is over. It does raise a fair question: before communities are asked to absorb the costs of this race, where’s the proof the investment will pay off for ordinary Americans?
Imagine having a government that can calculate every penny you owe in taxes, add penalties if you are late, and take it straight out of your paycheck…
…but somehow cannot give taxpayers a clear, itemized account of where every dollar goes.
They know exactly what you owe them.
You are still expected to guess what they did with it.
ProPublica reports Martin Kao told the FBI that Lindsey Graham, James Clyburn and Joe Wilson linked campaign money to defense contract support. Investigators found records supporting parts of his account. The lawmakers deny wrongdoing; none was charged. Kao went to prison for separate fraud and campaign finance crimes.
If the FBI had evidence, why did the investigation go nowhere? Taxpayers deserve answers, not another Washington cover up.
Talladega used to mean drivers putting their foot down and fighting for every inch. Sunday, NASCAR says roughly 75% of the field fell below minimum speed while saving fuel. Officials had to warn the teams: pick it up or we may have to step in. No one was black-flagged, but think about how ridiculous that is.
Fans don’t buy a ticket or tune in to watch a pack of cars crawl around the track because everyone’s scared to burn fuel. That’s not racing. That’s a strategy meeting at 160 mph. NASCAR needs to figure out why fuel mileage is dictating the show at one of the biggest tracks in the sport. Talladega deserves better.
