Trick or Treat is Saturday, Oct. 31 between 6 and 8 p.m. Residents should watch for children crossing streets and drive slowly. Parma Auxiliary Police will be helping Parma Police Department patrol the streets to make sure everyone stays safe while having fun. #Halloween2026
I appreciate our first responders who pass out treats, auxiliary police who make sure pedestrians cross streets safely, businesses that participate, Polish Village volunteers who decorate and, of course, Ward 2 Councilwoman Debbie Lime who coordinates the annual Treat and Greet.
I had the opportunity to visit with residents and see many fun and creative costumes at the Treat and Greet headquarters in Polish Village. #treatandgreet #halloween
Every October, I enjoy attending Polish Villageβs Treat and Greet. The weather was perfect for the children and adults who donned costumes seeking treats from the participating local businesses, as well as our police in the pocket park. Even Rosco wore a costume. #treatandgreet
Parma households should look for the fall edition of the city newsletter to land in their mailboxes soon. This newsletter and previous newsletters are also available to read online. mycommunityonline.com/publicβ¦
I am excited about the official opening of the new Creek to Creek Neighborhood Greenway. Itβs another example of partnerships making progress in our communities. Bring your bikes 10 a.m., Oct. 31, and ride the new Greenway. Itβs a fun way to start Halloween. #BikeCommunity
This week, Parma Police Chief Kevin Riley recognized officers whose skills, quick action and determination saved lives. From lifting a vehicle high enough to free a trapped victim to rendering first aid, these officers responded decisively when people needed urgent assistance.
At tonightβs council meeting, Ward 9 Councilman Rob Euerle and I recognized Josh Mucha as the 2026 Youth Soccer Coach of the Year. His young players joined him for the presentation. Congratulations, Coach Mucha!

Today, I joined veterans, residents and @BrennanforOhio at Veterans Memorial to unveil a marker honoring Parma native and Medal of Honor recipient Frank A. Herda whose courage in Vietnam saved the lives of fellow soldiers. He died in 2023, but he will forever be remembered.
We recognized Aedan Stevens during Monday nightβs council meeting for achieving the prestigious Eagle Scout rank. For his Eagle Scout project, he installed 196 personalized donor bricks around the patio of his school, @paduafranciscan, honoring members of the Padua community.
We recognized Firefighter Carter Adams and Medic Douglas Green during Mondayβs council meeting for their incredible response to an emergency birth. Adams and Green safely delivered baby Connor Joseph Swope, a moment they and Sarah and Jeremy Swope will likely never forget. ππΆ
