College Football was at its best yesterday in DSM.
The Incredible 73 Game Winning Regular Season Streak ends...Yes, the Grand View Vikings lost...but man what a game, and WHAT A STREAK.
After covering the game live on the sidelines our SGI team went home and took some time to raise a cold one to that amazing cold one.
73 Saturdays of Winning and it only ended in a classic game that only way it should, and being on the sidelines was amazing. The Benedictine Ravens can ball out and seeing the joy of their faces when they climbed the NAIA Mt. Everest is what football is all about.
So, the next chance you get Raise a Horn of Ale to the GV Vikings...they will be back.
We've been lucky to see a lot of games up close, but the Grand View - Benedictine last two meetings are some of the best Games we have ever seen.
At GV offices today EJ Peterson and Gang are moving forward watching film and on to next week, but we hope they take some time at some point to celebrate 73 straight Saturdays of Winning football.
In Atlanta at the College Football Hall of Fame, it's a record that you will be able to see in the future. I doubt we will ever see a 73 regular season game winning streak again at any college football level (D1, FCS, D2, D3 or NAIA)
It was Perfect day at the Duke, Fans losing their minds on both sides, historic winning streak on the line ... @TheHeartConf @NikRule @GVVikingFB @RavenFootballBC @CoachEJGVU

We brought another bus of players to our game yesterday. Our boys brought energy and played a big role in our win! Thanks to Todd Nugent for supervising!

Consider this. Share it with your athlees.
You’ve spent hundreds of hours preparing for Friday night.
Lifting. Running. Summer workouts. Practices in the heat.
And how much actual football might you actually play?
10 minutes.
Do the math.
A game has roughly 120 plays.
Half are offense. Half are defense.
An average play lasts about 5 seconds.
120 plays × 5 seconds = 600 seconds.
That’s 10 minutes.
Hundreds and hundreds of hours of work for five minutes of actual football.
And I’m not asking you to give me 10 minutes all at once.
I’m asking for five seconds at a time.
Five seconds as hard as you can possibly play.
Get up. Get back in the huddle. Do it again.
And again.
Until there are no five seconds left.
Hundreds of hours for five minutes.
Don’t waste a second.
