Just a reminder - my quoting of any theologian is not necessarily a personal endorsement of or agreement with that quote. I post things I find interesting or of some significance

We donโ€™t come to church primarily to work, we come primarily to have our faith strengthens by receiving Christ through the ordinary means of grace of Word and sacrament.

The two greatest confessions of the Christian faith were both written in the 18th century in America. 1742 and 1788 were great years!

(1) The glory of England lies in the gospel, in this it excels all nations of the earth; and when the gospel goes, our strength and glory goes also : it is likewise (as one observes) the ornament and honour of that nation or kingdom where it is; and...

It is quite remarkable how easily we become bored with the very things God has promised to use for our good. We want something extraordinary, something exciting, something that will make this Sunday feel different from every other Sunday. Perhaps the problem isn't that God has given us too little. Perhaps we've just forgotten how wonderful His grace really is.

Being โ€œReformedโ€ does not simply mean believing in the doctrines of grace as some would surmise. It is much deeper and grander than that. The Reformed Christian is: Calvinistic in their soteriology. Covenantal in their interpretation. Confessional in their practice.

May seem little but this is a huge milestone for me. The joy reading theology was taken away from me and I didnโ€™t know if Iโ€™d ever get it back

The word โ€œProtestantโ€ actually has a real definition and meaning you know
I believe we are going to see more and more Protestant churches affirm polygamy. It's actually not a huge step once you adopt the sort of hyper-literal Biblicism that's already the de facto approac in that world. It won't be the mainstream view, but could get traction.

Satan is the great accuser of the brethren. Always pointing fingers. Always fault finding. Always looking for reasons to condemn. Always seeking to stain your obedience with accusations of self-serving motives and personal ambition. Donโ€™t be ignorant of his designs.
