With rights comes responsibility. With authority comes duty. With truth comes morality. With love comes sacrifice. With Christ comes the cross. Not many people understand these things anymore.

Exactly.
Joel has taken a personal dispute over speech, declared his opponent guilty of slander, and then thanked God that the civil government has silenced him through an entirely unrelated immigration proceeding. Notice the progression: Joel's personal judgment becomes a purported offense against God's servants and church (whom he clearly believes he is speaking for), and Sey's immigration detention becomes an occasion for celebrating divine vindication. Yet no court has adjudicated the alleged slander, no ecclesiastical judgment has been established, and the immigration authorities certainly weren't adjudicating Sey's criticisms of his opponents. This is the very confusion of jurisdictions that Romans 12–13 prevents. Christians are forbidden from taking personal vengeance, while civil magistrates are authorized to administer justice within their lawful jurisdiction. But Joel effectively appropriates the magistrate's action as vindication of his own personal grievance. And the free-speech irony is remarkable. Warlords of the CN digital ghetto depend on broad protections for their own controversial speech, including harsh accusations against their opponents. Yet when someone directs similarly controversial speech toward them, they declare it slander, invoke the Ninth Commandment, and treat the critic's unrelated legal troubles as an occasion for thanksgiving that his mouth has been shut (which of course, is only temporary). Such a connection is self-righteous, pagan superstition, not biblical consequence. The right to criticize others does not establish the truth of one's criticisms (nor does Sey being "shut up" establish the falsehood of his), and the right to be offended by criticism does not confer authority to adjudicate it as slander. And if all this wasn't bad enough, Joel has incorporated this entire disputed moral judgment into a performative public prayer, effectively inviting his audience to affirm before God the sanctification of Joel's superstitious connection between his hurt feelings and Samuel Sey's detention. The civil government enforces immigration law. Churches address genuine sin. Individuals criticize one another. But these jurisdictions are not interchangeable, and God's providence cannot simply be conscripted as a vindication of our personal disputes.

This is performative mockery of God. Webbon is storing up Holy wrath and judgement for himself. He had better repent and trust in Christ for salvation before it is too late. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. — Galatians 6:7

💯% true
What I’ve learned in the past two years: Too many young men in America have suddenly become “Christian” for the aesthetic alone and don’t know a single thing about Jesus or His gospel. It’s the most spiritually dangerous revival I’ve ever seen because their faith shows no fruit evidence of actually being a saving faith. Their fruit is resentment, hate, perversion, pride, and ignorance. They don’t understand grace. They don’t know what a testimony is. They don’t know that ALL have sinned or the implications of that fact. They don’t value humility, or meekness. They don’t value Christs commands beyond the few proof-texts they can twist to grasp at power or vainglory. They use worldly wisdom, priorities and judgement and just slap Jesus’ name on it. The church needs to stand up and fight this. These men are going to hell and taking thousands with them.

In case some of you need a reminder, this online spanking is a big reason that the Samuel Sey immigration issue has blown up the way it has. These Christless Nationalists NEED him to be publicly humiliated and discredited.
My debate with Dale Partridge on the so-called Curse of Ham is happening at 5PM EST. You can watch it here: youtube.com/live/zp_fn4Kbhpo… Please pray that I would speak the truth in love (for God and for Dale), as I defend the holy word of God.

.@megbasham needs to clarify her DHS tweet. What questions did she ask the spokesperson? Was this an official press release or an email response? If it was an email, the full correspondence should be made publicly available. @TomBuck testified that Samuel sought his counsel during the visa process. The Sey family says they have worked with legal counsel since 2022 to obtain permanent legal status. Yet DHS supposedly claims Sam had no pending applications and overstayed his authorized admission by “over four years.” Consider the timeline. On February 20, 2022, Samuel wrote that he had been in Ohio for three weeks, placing his arrival around late January. He received his marriage license on April 14 and planned to marry on April 16, approximately 76 days after that estimated arrival. Canadian visitors are commonly admitted for up to 6 months. Then, on December 24, 2022, Samuel wrote: “I can’t visit my family in Canada until I get my Green Card.” That statement deserves attention. Adjustment of Status is a legal pathway through which an eligible foreign national who entered the US lawfully may apply for permanent residency after marrying a US citizen. Once an I-485 application is filed, leaving the country without approved Advance Parole will generally abandon the application, subject to limited exceptions. His December statement is consistent with someone waiting for a green card and unable to travel without jeopardizing the process. It does not, by itself, prove an application was filed. But alongside Buck’s testimony and the family’s account of working with counsel since 2022, it raises a serious question of Basham’s tweet about DHS’s claim that Samuel had no pending applications and was thus in the states illegally for over 4 years. We should remember that the government is not infallible, and neither are the journalists who repeat its claims. Did we learn nothing from COVID, when the CDC and journalists pushed narratives that later had to be reconsidered? “The government said so” is not a substitute for scrutiny, evidence, and due process. Respecting lawful authority does not require blind trust in it. Magistrates are accountable to God, and their claims are not beyond examination. Establish the facts before passing judgment on @SlowToWrite.
Samuel Sey’s family confirms that the DHS statement that claimed he agreed to deportation is FALSE. They have been working with a lawyer ever since 2022 when they submitted for a Green Card to obtain status for Samuel, and are currently working with their legal team to uncover what might have gone wrong to cause ICE to jail Samuel. Please continue to pray for and donate to brother Samuel, and rebuke the antichristians on this app.

Remember kids, bureaucracy makes mistakes all the time.
Replying to @DJJenkins
When you apply for a spousal green card you are allowed to stay while it processes. If your temporary visa expires while it takes YEARS to process, ICE can flag you as removable even though you have a pending app. The bureaucratic right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing.

While we will have to wait for the details of the situation, one thing is certain: God has used this snafu to further expose the wicked hearts of the CN crowd. They have grossly failed Christ’s own test. “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” — John 13:35
And we’re all learning that most of the people that cheer for you and your Christian Nationalists buddies are unregenerate. If you ever wonder if you’re on the right side of things, just take a side by side look at the people who support you vs the people who oppose you.

Progressive Christianity and Christian Nationalism are two sides of the same coin. What is that coin? A religion of the here-and-now with a useful god comprised of cherry-picked verses and vain imaginings. Find the narrow path. Choose the real Jesus that will not be used or useful for your agendas. Set your affection on things above and not on things on the earth. Bow the knee of your heart to the One “in whom we live and breathe and have our being.”

Sauve didn’t resist anything. He deleted the tweet and then gave everyone a performative faux pious take on the situation. Believe people when they tell you who they are.

Very true.
It will be better for the Mormons on the day of judgement than Ogden.

Praying that this is nothing more than some unfortunate and inconvenient mix up.
Pray for Samuel Sey & his family. He’s a great man of God, father, & husband. Praying this whole immigration situation is resolved quickly & efficiently so he can get back home to his family.

🚨BREAKING: The five rapists and murderers driving the pickup truck where Shani Louk was disheveled and unconscious after being gang-raped, with her hair matted with blood and dirt have been successively hunted down globally by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Mossad and executed.

The most remarkable aspect about this issue over “Zionism” is that Israel is the only nation about which we even have the debate over whether or not they have a right to exist as a nation. We don’t do this for any other country. We may talk about regime change and changes in governmental structures, but the question of the very existence of a national people and whether they should be driven out and replaced with another group is never applied even to nations like South Korea, Venezuela, or Iran, much less anywhere else. If you hold any support at any level for Israel, you are immediately labeled as a “Zionist” and accused of being on the take. Then there are those on the other side who will take any criticism of national Israel and cry “antisemitism!” Neither is helpful. The former holds unequal standards and generates hatred towards rational discussion. The latter follows the same pattern and risks the same outcome as the over applied use of “racism.” They create what they decry. Again, it’s striking that this only applies to Israel. And that begs the question: Why? Certainly those who hate God have always hated Israel. This has been true since their enslavement in Egypt. Yet, amongst those who claim to follow Christ, I believe the attitude of jealousy and entitlement of the prodigal son’s older brother to be the culprit. In their pride, they boast against the branches.

And then the first one moves out, and you realize just how much of your life has changed.
When you have kids, older parents will tell you “they grow up fast.” You’ll hear it a million times. Then one day you’ll realize how true it was. The time flies by as your kids get older. The days are short. Years don’t feel like years anymore. It’s bewildering. Impossible to talk about without sounding cliched.

Let's be honest, Wolfe is operating on one of the following premises, and none of them are good. Either: God wants nations to act morally, but He is a poor communicator and Scripture is not sufficient for addressing matters of how to govern a nation in a God-pleasing way. -or- National governance is not a matter in which God is concerned, and therefore, His Law doesn't need to be taken into account on a civil level. -or- Our concern should not be whether our political policies please God or not, but rather, our focus should be on what will or will not work for the godless culture in which we live. In reality, any time Scripture does speak on a topic, such as righteous governance, "because the Bible says so" is in every way sufficient, since it is the exact same thing as saying, "because God says so." This is where even the more mild flavors of Christian Nationalism, like Wolfe's, falter. The Christian part takes a back seat to the Nationalism. In fact, it typically only applies when convenient. When it's not, it can be discarded for something seen as more practical. Waiting on the Holy Spirit to transform men's hearts is too slow and too risky for the Christian Nationalist.
"I love my Southern Baptist brothers who are dispensationalists, but the reality is that theology is waning in the US and simply saying 'because the Bible says so,' in light of these very difficult conversations, isn't going to work." — @WilliamWolfe at NatCon Jerusalem

Yep. Boreing loves to point fingers, but rarely holds himself to the same standards.

WARNING: Very personal story post below about leaving King James Onlyism and Finding Freedom in Christ On this day in 1536, William Tyndale was strangled and burned for translating the Bible into English so ordinary people could read the Word of God for themselves. It is also a personal day for me and marks the day I was kicked out of my church for no longer holding a KJVO position. I lost everything that day. My church, my community, my friends, and my identity. I was raised KJVO. I grew up reading every Chick Tract ever printed, calling every other version a “per-version,” and even tearing up NIV and NKJV Bibles in hotel rooms as a kid, thinking I was serving God. At my IFB Bible college, I was taught that the King James Bible was not only the best translation, but the perfect, inspired, and FINAL Word of God. But while preparing my ordination paper on bibliology, I ran into questions my KJVO education could not honestly answer. So I studied the history of the English Bible for myself. I read the KJV preface, “The Translators to the Reader,” and realized the translators themselves would have rejected modern KJVOism. They saw their work as one step in a long chain of faithful translation, not the final word. They also admitted that their work would contain mistakes and imperfections. I also studied the common KJVO “proof texts” like Psalm 12:6–7, Matthew 5:18, and Revelation 22:19. I discovered they had nothing to do with the KJV. • Psalm 12 speaks of God preserving His people, not a translation. • Matthew 5 affirms the permanence of God’s Law, not an English version. • Revelation 22 warns against altering the book of Revelation’s prophecy and message, not modern translations. When I shared my findings with my pastor, I was met with anger and hostility. I was told that if I left the King James Only position, I would be turning my back on the men who had trained me, and that I would be heading toward apostasy, and that my children would not be saved ultimately with the “road I was headed down.” But I had realized that even though the KJV is beautiful and faithful, it was keeping me ( and those I was trying to disciple) from clearly understanding God’s Word. Much of its language was hard to grasp, and it was hindering more than helping. I chose honesty. I told my pastor I no longer held a KJVO position but would gladly keep teaching from the KJV. I just could not pretend to believe something I no longer did. Instead, I was asked to leave. Leaving that church was not just leaving a church. It was leaving a culture, a family, and a way of life. In the IFB world, we were told that churches outside our circle were compromised or false. When my wife and I left, we stepped into uncharted territory, trusting God to lead us. We were shunned by many we loved. Then, just a few months later, our home burned down in a total-loss fire. Some said it was God’s judgment on us. That season broke us, but it also built us. God taught us to stand for truth, no matter what it costs… just as Tyndale did. And in one of those quiet moments of providence, the very day we left our church, we came home heartbroken and saw that this very day in church history was when Tyndale was martyred - October 6th. It felt like God saying: “Truth is worth standing for, whatever it costs.” God used our loss to teach us that our identity is not in a Bible version or denomination, but in Christ alone. Through that truth, He turned our pain into purpose. Through my book “The Forgotten Preface” and my story God has allowed me to tell, I’ve seen Him open eyes and free hearts. Every testimony reminds me that nothing we endured was wasted. Tyndale’s dying prayer was, “Lord, open the King of England’s eyes.” God answered it. And by His grace, He is still opening eyes today of those trapped in KJVOism.

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! — Revelation 22:16-17, 20
