Friday night and im heading to Bob Stewarts Liquor salon, after a day out leafteting around Hillsborough, I've come to one conclusion: the electorate needs a holiday from politics and if your there say hello I'm buying.
Beautiful morning in Hillsborough for a leaflet drop with our SDLP candidate, Rebecca Harper.
Great to be out meeting people, having conversations and listening to local views.
What a brilliant night in Wallace Park! I absolutely loved it the colours, the lanterns, the lights, the fireworks and the fantastic atmosphere. A real credit to Lisburn. Well done to Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council and everyone involved. You did us proud.

Sinn Fein want to destroy Northen Ireland and unionism should be very wary of those who want to assist them.
They’re very quick to identify the first step – but then what’s the plan? Don’t be led down an alley by someone who doesn’t know where they are going.
I visited St Colman’s Primary School, Lambeg, this morning following the threatening email . Staff had to take this extremely seriously notifying parents and arranging safe collection of children. My thanks to the headmaster and staff. Children’s safety must always come first.

An extraordinary and historic day for GAA in South Belfast.
There'll not be one cow milked on the Malone Road tomorrow.
Up the Biddies!!
Best of luck to St Brigid’s this Sunday in the Antrim Senior Football Championship final against O’Donovan Rossa at Corrigan Park.
A fantastic achievement for the club since its formation in 1998. Wishing everyone involved every success.
So tonight, I’m treating myself to a well-earned glass of Powers John’s Lane, 12-year-old single pot still Irish whiskey.
Sometimes you just have to sit back, take a breath, and enjoy a little of the good stuff. I think I’ve earned this one. Sláinte!
Up at St Columba’s Church on Belsize Road today for the Lisburn North Grand Choice event, where local people voted for their top ten community projects. Great to see community spirit in action and local people helping shape their neighbourhoods.
Good to attend today’s mental health conference at Lagan Valley Island. We must break down stigma, listen to people and ensure nobody feels they have to face mental health challenges alone.
Attended the Hilden Community Association AGM tonight. Great to see such a good turnout, the childcare social enterprise and tearoom is doing so well. Exciting projects lie ahead. Best wishes to the incoming committee and sincere thanks to the outgoing committee.

Courts don't decide determinations, only the legality of the process in which a determination is reached. They cannot account for the worst ever Commission making the worst ever Parades Commission determination.
Thankfully the Secretary of State finally saw sense and dealt with a situation he could have avoided himself if he'd sacked the Commission when their initial failings became clear

The children and grandchildren have headed home, and Rosemary and I are enjoying a bit of peace and quiet. As the nights draw in and Halloween approaches, it’s time for my favourite tipple, a 12-year-old Redbreast. Just the one, mind you. No need to be greedy.

Excuse the pun, but I think I’ve hit the crossbar in my local lotto with my home club, St Michael’s GAC Magheralin!
No luck this time, but it’s all about supporting your club. Keep up the good work, St Michael’s!
