New preprint from us while with @McLauchlanCVR identifying a new anti-HCV gene, ARHGEF3 aka XPLN (pronounced zeppelin) through ISG screening against HepC transient replicon. Big thanks to coauthors @ElihuAranday @RicardoSanvel @PatelLabCVR @KohlLabCVR @WilsonLabCVR
A human and rhesus macaque interferon-stimulated gene screen reveals ARHGEF3/XPLN as an antiviral gene against hepatitis C virus and other flaviviruses biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shor… #bioRxiv

At the beginning of March, Paulo, PhD student from @Unesp_Global, concluded his 6 months experience in our lab, testing potential antivirals against #ZIKV. Now is back in Brazil and we are already missing his sunny presence. Best wishes for your PhD! @AgenciaFAPESP
We're really proud of @emcat1 @CVR_Genomics and @CVRbioinfo and the contribution they are making to this important #COVIDー19 collaborative UK #Genomic_Sequencing initiative. Rapid real time sequencing data will help map #SARSCoV2 spread and identify viral changes.
Incredibly proud UofG's Centre for Virus Research @CVRinfo has been named as one of 13 key centres in a pan-UK alliance of scientists, working on #COVID19 whole genome sequencing.🦠 Read more➡️ow.ly/NYq8102d5oD #unisupport #WorldChangingGlasgow #TeamUofG

Time flies... One year ago Chayanee joined @PatelLabCVR. She was a wonderful addition to the team, during and after working hours. She even convinced me to ride the Star Flyer at Edinburgh Christmas market 😱. Now she is back at her university in Bangkok and we miss her so much!

Our centre is looking to see if there are some new postdoc 'best practices' that could be adopted. Is there anything you think your centre does well or doesn't do (that you think they should do) that you'd be willing to share so that we can take inspiration?
