So humbled and encouraged by the fantastic feedback from the participants of the ACE supported ‘Life Through the Lens’ workshops at @ProjectZeroWF1 It was such a pleasure to meet these talented young people and facilitate ways of expressing their creativity through photography.

While we are being lectured to turn the heating down, eat less meat and cough up yet more “green” taxes so the planet can be saved, the politicians and the billionaires doing the lecturing are flying by private jet into places like Davos to eat caviar and congratulate each other on their virtue.
The same politicians and billionaires who helped engineer the energy price spikes, the cost of living inflation, green taxes and the deliberate strangulation of reliable power repeatedly lecture us plebs on why we must accept a permanently poorer standard of living.
They created the cost-of-living crisis with the policies they now demand we endure, then fly over it in carbon-spewing luxury to tell you the pain is virtuous.
The rules are for the ruled. The jets, the motorcades, the government funnelled taxpayer funded net zero contracts to corporations and the moralising are for the rulers.
“Net zero” has become yet another virtue con trick to facilitate yet another asset grab and wealth transfer to the wealthiest while squeezing everyone else.

London could lose one of its main bridges within the next three years.
Yet the fund that's supposed to maintain London's bridges has spent millions of pounds supporting climate change charities and groups with alleged links to Hamas.
We cannot go on like this.

I’ve been Self employed or run a small limited company all my life, at one time employing 2 people full time & 2 part time. The longest I took off when I had my 3 children was a week. Becuase if I didn’t work I didn’t earn. Labour have absolutely no idea what private sector work is! It’s so insulting
What an extraordinary statement. Apparently, according to Labour, employers aren't working people. Tell that to the small business owners working 60-hour weeks, risking their savings, paying their staff and keeping their businesses afloat. Labour can play with definitions and indulge in endless whataboutery, but it cannot escape the consequences of its decisions. Taxing employers affects jobs, wages and the very people Labour claims to protect.

I must have been told to fuck off by at least a thousand men in fetish fear by now, but for God's sake try contacts. You're easily the stupidest looking I've ever seen, @pup_shay_.

I have never denied that people who call themselves trans exist and in the UK, they rightly have exactly the same rights as every other citizen. What you want is for women to lose their sex-based rights to accommodate men who say they're women. That's the conflict.

The President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, points out some inconvenient truths to BBC journalist Stephen Sackur on oil and CO2 emissions in Guyana:
“Let me stop you right there. Are you aware that Guyana is home to a forest the size of England and Scotland combined? A forest that stores 19.5 gigatonnes of carbon? A forest that we have preserved?”
Sackur then asks, “Does that give you the right to release all this carbon?”
Dr. Irfaan Ali:
“Does it give you the right to lecture us on climate change? I am going to lecture you on climate change because we have kept this forest alive that stores 19.5 gigatonnes of carbon that you enjoy, that the world enjoys, that you don’t pay us for, that you don’t value, that you don’t see a value in, that people of Guyana has kept alive.”

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

I’ve been so fortunate to know these guys in real life. They are the old stock of manliness, when that wasn’t an insult. Just blokes who love & admire women. They couldn’t have been more respectful. I hope this isn’t the end of an era.

Slavery was a great evil, practiced in almost every culture at some point in history.
Britain did more than any other country to bring the international slave trade to an end.
Our Prime Minister should be proud of that history, not caving to those who wish to rewrite it.

Critical thinking should sit at the heart of every school curriculum, alongside performing arts, music, sport, cooking, DIY skills, household finance, public speaking, debating, and growing food. Education must prepare students for life - not just exams.

you can see why Ange might not be keen on an investigation into the £55 MILLION in taxpayer funded housing loans, approved by Andy’s Greater Manchester authority, for companies linked to Manchester City’s billionaire owner.

Look what happens when you have no idea who you are letting into your country in huge numbers. Illegal mass immigration in to Europe has got to stop. Governments 1st responsibility is to the safety of its people. That has not happened for a long time. Liberal Suicidal empathy is self destruction

Governments fiddle while Rome burns. Western Europe is facing two simultaneous crises: a cost-of-living crisis and large-scale illegal migration. The combination is a tinderbox. How long can political leaders keep looking the other way? But they do this because they enabled it.

Loudly for those having tantrums about the NHS *finally* obeying the law, some 16 years on, and providing women with necessary, separate, single sex spaces. This is partly why. I dare you to tell us you don't agree it should.
I first raised this report by @JoPhoenix1 for @WomensRightsNet in spring 2023 at PMQs. Since then we've had 5 Health Secretaries, a Supreme Court clarification of The Equality Act 2010, and simple EHRC guidance.
The NHS delay should shame every senior MP who failed to ensure UK law was acted on. womensrights.network/nhs-dat…

France is a huge huge warning…. It’s criminal negligence at best, quite possibly treasonable by this government if they choose NOT to recognise this, & take the relevant precautions.

Tony Benn’s 5 political questions:
“What power have you got?
Where did you get it from?
In whose interests do you exercise it?
To whom are you accountable?
How do we get rid of you?
And if you can’t get rid of the people who govern you, you don’t live in a democratic system.”

These protestors in no way represent a great many of us at City St George's, staff and students, who are as appalled as anyone else by attempts to intimidate Jewish and Israeli lecturers and visitors. And it is by no means clear these are all or mostly actual students at the institution.
