The world No. 1 in women's tennis, Aryna Sabalenka, unleashes a devastating and unfiltered statement: "It's vital to protect fairness. Biologically, men are much stronger than women. It's not fair. It's not equality. It's not women's sports if we let biological men compete against us." She sides with Sophie Cunningham and sends a clear message: women are not going to keep staying silent while they steal our titles, podiums, and opportunities from us.

"Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much."
- President Trump, earlier today
A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.
Pure guts on her part 🫡
Everyone is praising the armed bystander who shot the attacker in Bend, but we need to talk about the teacher. She was completely unarmed. Facing an active gunman, she didn't hesitate—she threw her phone and tackled him to the ground, wrestling him for control of the weapon. Charging at a shooter with your bare hands takes an incredible level of bravery. She physically disrupted the attack and bought the critical seconds needed to stop further tragedy. A true hero.

Our hearts are with the family of Megan Lambert, who has been identified as the teacher shot and killed yesterday at Silver Rail Elementary School.
Megan was only 25-years-old.
In a statement, Megan’s family shared the following: “She loved Silver Rail. This was her dream job. Megan was compassionate and had a huge heart. She always fought for the underdog and those with special needs… We would like the other families to know they are in our thoughts and prayers. Megan loved those children, and so we will show you love for her."
Megan also worked as a volleyball coach at Central Oregon Volleyball Club, where in her first year coaching, she turned down payment so that the money could go to the families of the players who could not afford to play. She was a selfless, beloved teacher, sister, and daughter who will be deeply missed.
Megan deserved better, and we will always fight in her honor.

How can you see this and believe it’s okay for everything to be ripped away from women. When is it going to end.
Governor Bob Ferguson and @washdems, this is on you. COWARDS. Absolute COWARDS. We will never forget how you abandoned women and girls at the altar of your radical ideologies. And we will NEVER forgive.

On the Cornell 7 and Jane Doe: I don't know if anyone reads or follows LA Magazine? I don't.
But they have been intensely covering the situation, and failed to publicly disclosed what is a glaring conflict of interest, while promising a "bombshell" to come.
The attorney for Winston Lee, one of the Cornell 7 who is from a very prominent and wealthy South Korean family (his grandfather is a former prime minister), has hired Teny Geragos, a high profile attorney, to represent him.
The co-owner of LA Magazine is Mark Geragos, Teny's dad. Their relationship has not been publicly disclosed as a conflict of interest in their coverage. One of the LA Magazine reporters is promising a "bombshell" to discredit Jane Doe. Just making you all aware.
H/t to David Denney for bringing this to my attention.

Have found myself so deeply angry not just at the boys in the Cornell fraternity, but at their fathers.
So much bullshit today about masculinity and what makes a man, but one thing is really simple:
A man does not allow a situation like what happened at Cornell to continue. He stops it, even at risk to himself.
There were no men in that fraternity. The implications of that go way beyond Cornell.

A medical officer's plan to evacuate wounded soldiers at Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, was never briefed or put in place after she was sent to Jordan, according to an Associated Press investigation of the March 1st Iranian drone strike that killed six U.S. soldiers and wounded dozens in the opening day of Operation Epic Fury.
AP reports the officer had prepared an evacuation plan that included collection points for moving the wounded. She was among a group sent to Jordan, and the plan was never implemented. Seven soldiers, including senior officers stationed at the port, told the AP the unit went into the war without a broad plan for a mass casualty event.
After the strike, soldiers whose phones still worked used Google to find the nearest medical facilities, AP reports. One group of wounded was treated at a Kuwaiti hospital for about 48 hours, then stayed in residential homes in Kuwait for another week because Iranian missiles and drones made evacuation flights risky. They eventually flew to Germany on a cargo plane.

The 737 MAX 8 in particular has a bad rap but what happened to FlyDubai 1073 should give every traveler confidence in these planes.
The Wall Street Journal reports the jet reached about Mach 0.96 in the dive, well past its maximum operating speed of Mach 0.82, then was hauled out at roughly 3g and still landed with a chunk of its rudder gone.
The thing people need to keep in mind is that while Boeing's engineers know the certified envelope and the safety margins, what they don't have is a full-scale flight test of a complete 737 Max flown until it breaks apart.
So the exact speed and duration at which this airplane would have become unrecoverable was always modeled and estimated, and no one really knows at what points the airframe just disintegrates. Boeing is not going to destroy a complete plane and sacrifice a test pilot in flight just to measure a number no airline will ever need.
All this to say that this is the safety factor doing its job.
@Boeing can take a bow.

We know a lot more, and there is of course more to come from the Cornell gang rape. Like many of you, I am experiencing a range of emotions. I am also an involved alum of Cornell, and an activist for women, so I will do what I can to make this woman's life any bit less of the hell that it now.
Brief background, 15 years ago, one of my Cornell sorority sisters who also lived in Westchester County was murdered, along with her children, by her estranged husband before he killed himself. The 15 year memorial is in a couple of weeks. Like this case, there was immediate victim blaming of my dear friend, and it broke all our hearts. Two of the husband's friend, both lawyers, did the victim blaming thing - as is so typical. They blamed her for her kids and children's murder. I did two things: 1) I worked on Wall Street with Mary Pat Christie and her husband was NJ AG at the time so I reached out to her, and I received a letter that they did open an investigation (longer story), and 2) bless you Tara Rosenblum of our local News 12 who allowed me to come on and defend our friend, and tell the truth about her character.
Now I am seeing some of the same despicable victim blaming from the lawyer for one of the Cornell 7. His name is Jeremy Saland and he lives in Westchester County. He came out blazing with the victim shaming of Jane Doe, right away. Some of the things he said about her:
- she was "intentionally dishonest"
- "selfish"
- "morally repugnant"
- her lawsuit was a "money grab"
and more. Truly sickening.
It's one thing to defend your client. It's heinous to blame the victim! Jeremy was an elected Democrat for his town. His father was a longtime Republican state senator. Since I am involved politically, I have been literally nauseous to realize that I have 20 mutual "friends" with this guy on Facebook.
Here are some new things we have learned about Jane Doe:
* Jane Doe told Cornell Police that that she could “say with 100% confidence I was raped"
* she said she had consensual sex with two men, but the other five who entered the room, including Jeremy's client were not
* she was hit and drugged
* she was of course in shock after
* word of the gang rape got around campus by the next afternoon as the Cornell 7 bragged about it
* she finished the semester, in part because Cornell refused to reimburse her tuition, then dropped out. She is from a small town, not wealth
My small act here other than making you all aware and calling this out, is to reach out to the 20 people, and give them the choice to unfriend him or me. I refuse to have any connection with this evilness.
Please protect this woman however you can. Her life was made hell by what happened two years ago, and it is about to get even worse.

I know We Just Don't Care is an older one, but I share this once in a while to remind ourselves that even if men do believe women, that doesn't necessarily mean they're going to care. The problem isn't the report. The problem is the culture.

Kudos to the student journalists at The Cornell Daily Sun.
This is why journalism matters, at all levels. Keep shining a light on the darkest corners of power.
The last 24 hours of news as a woman:
- A man jacks off to the woman next to him on a plane. United makes her return to her seat.
- 7 frat boys drug and gang rape a student for hours, and advertise “free p*ssy” to their frat. Cornell makes them write essays.
- A football player rapes a student. LSU reduces his suspension.
- A teen boy stalks and stabs a girl 10 times. Courts grant only a restraining order.
- Brendan Carr spent 9 years in a cult raping teen girls. Trump made him FCC Chair.
