Find me over on the other site. I am moving all tweeting — including city council live tweets — over there. #yqrcc
New Queen City Improvement Bureau… Belle Plaine & Bryn Besse visit the subbasement to play some music and talk about the Queen City. youtu.be/8xNUiT5MQ24 #yqrcc
We talk w/ the UofR's Sean Tucker about the Coop Refinery proposal to build a 510 bed work camp inside their north Regina facility. Is it safe, pleasant or ethical? Does council have authority to shoot this down or are their hands tied? #yqrcc

If you just want an efficient summary of council's AI Data Centre discussion, you can go to fucking AI for that. But if you want a rambling council recap w/ Back To The Future & Resident Evil references, here's the Queen City Improvement Bureau… youtu.be/cofjZ8JhNIk?si=TOSh… #yqrcc
We talk about the AI data centre growing like a giant throbbing cyst on the arse of Regina in the new Queen City Improvement Bureau w/ guest Simon Enoch from the Canadian Centre For Policy Alternatives: youtu.be/O1u24Kg0LoI?si=C7ci… #yqrcc
Want to hear about something AMAZING that's happening in North Central? Some of the gang from Growing Young Movers joined us in the subbasement to talk about how their program out of Scott Collegiate is transforming their neighbourhood. A super fun QCIB: youtu.be/oOlN2piAP1g?si=WiI-…
Want to know how yesterday's council meeting went? I was hopped up on caffeine & recorded TWO live updates. The first, during council's break, covers a land transfer to support North Central Revitalization that Clr Rashovich had to interrogate. #yqrcc youtube.com/live/fGnPOC6YxiY…
The second is a post-meeting wrap up. (The good guys won & all the votes went well. Yay!) Then, a look at council's "Strategic Imperative" that pegs our mill rate to a number they pulled out of their ass but are claiming they got with "math." youtube.com/live/EGplrfGswT0… #yqrcc
The way Certain City Councillors — & their online confederates — implicitly demean legitimate city projects has been pissing me off. I look at two specific examples in the second half of this week's live council update. #yqrcc youtube.com/live/Vmxlog9CD1Q…
Regina's executive committee met for under an hour today to discuss fed $$ for transit & prov $$ for homelessness. I did a wrap up… for nearly an hour. So you're not actually saving time by watching this meeting summary <shrug emoji> youtube.com/live/Vmxlog9CD1Q… #yqrcc
In the most recent Queen City Improvement Bureau: What is Clr Tsiklis' Project Service Prioritization Motion & why did it fail? Why does the city's new merch look so familiar? What's changed in the Brandt/REAL deal? #yqrcc youtu.be/s-Hr2UrrJpQ?si=gn2G…
Here's a clip of Councillor Rashovich we meant to use in that episode of the Queen City Improvement Bureau but ran out of time…

And here's a longer clip of Councillor Bezo. We were going to use bits from this in the Queen City Improvement Bureau but ran out of time for this too.

It's council catch up day on the QCIB!! Council changed the Brandt/REAL Deal & WE HAVE QUESTIONS. Plus, Tsiklis' cringe Project Service Prioritization Motion. Also! Skuare & new/old municipal merch. Originally broadcast on CJTR @accessnowradio.ca. queencityib.com/podcasts/202… #yqrcc
Councillor Bezo picking fights with administration again. "You think you're a finely tuned F-1 machine? We're telling you you're not." Who's the "we", Clark?
Here's the full exchange, with timestamps to the highlights. youtu.be/38UXVm015OY?si=rV0O… #yqrcc
I enjoyed the bit where the mayor asks admin to provide an efficiencies update b/c clearly some councillors were not aware of the city's "continuous improvement" policy. Admin replies by saying they send out regular updates to council but they can send it again. #yqrcc
Council just voted 6 to 4 in favour of changing the terms of the Brandt/REAL Deal. Flores, Froh, Radons & Zachidniak voted against. (Screen capped quote says 7 to 4 b/c I misheard.)
Under new terms, Brandt will maintain & operate whole REAL campus for up to 20 years. #yqrcc
Note: Today's vote does not change anything at REAL right away. This just changes to terms the city can bargain from. A final deal has yet to be reached between the city & Brandt. #yqrcc
Prediction 1: We will end up regretting today's vote.
Prediction 2: This will not be the last time city admin requests changes to the term sheet to appease Brandt. #yqrcc
