This @NewYorker story is so good, and so important for everyone to understand. Through the lens of semiconductor manufacturing, it highlights the interconnectedness of today’s world and puts to shame anyone who thinks that we can go back to a world shaped only by national rivalries rather than international cooperation and trade. “The semiconductor supply chain is a planetary superorganism with its own ecology…. Globalization has become tainted in our eyes, as if it necessarily constitutes a zero-sum enterprise. And its mercenary form—which is also its most common form—has indeed inflicted harm. But the global semiconductor supply chain reflects an alternative pathway. It has united its participants in the pursuit of something profoundly difficult that could not have been achieved in the absence of intercontinental solidarity.” newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…

This hits the nail on the head, for me, on You Can See Everything.
Okay, so here's the thing. If you didn't read Bad Blood or the early WSJ reporting about Holmes (which I did, obsessively, because I am obsessed with scammers) you had a completely different experience of this movie. You *cannot* have engaged with that media, and then

Incredible scoop by my @WSJ colleagues: Elon Musk ordered the slowdown of a military-grade version of Starlink relied on by Ukraine, a decision that sparked panic in Kyiv and confusion inside the Trump administration. wsj.com/world/ukraine-starli…

A logistics foul up to end all logistics foul ups.
🚨🚨SCOOP: A shipment of F-35 fighter jet parts was rerouted to Hong Kong this summer — then vanished. Congress and DOD are investigating, amid the possibility that China may now have access to the highly-classified program. W/ @audrey_decker9 politico.com/news/2026/09/18…

🚚On the major Los Angeles-to-Dallas freight lane, a typical truckload now requires roughly $1,430 of diesel, based on the national average diesel price—up about $600, or 72%, from the day before the Feb. 28 strikes on Iran.

BREAKING: US stations are running out of diesel. Stations in North Texas are now posting "OUT" on their diesel signs, and an Orlando, Florida station has blanked its diesel price to 0.00 with the pump dry today. California stations already began posting "out of diesel" signs on Sunday, with the national average at a record $6.31 a gallon.

This guy sees the easy access to DCA that is an advantage for the airport as if it’s a problem and wants to solve that ‘problem’ by adding congestion.
Even though Reagan National had nearly as many passengers as BWI Marshall last year & was within 4 million of Dulles (IAD set a record last year), it has way fewer parking spaces. A new garage is expected to help, but it's not fully open yet. #DCA

Most years on 9/11 I reread Danny Pearl's WSJ obituary, which also breaks the news of his murder. His life reminds us what journalists are here to do: tell the best stories in the world, the ones that reveal truth beyond the officially-sanctioned version wsj.com/articles/SB101431135…

A $5,000 payment would likely push many poor people and poor families beyond state thresholds for Medicaid assistance.
The claim that federal budget is so overrun with surplus cash that Washington can afford to spend $1.3 trillion on "rebates" is so detached from reality that I refuse to waste my time walking through the math. If that makes sense to you, you are beyond help.
