#USElections - Affecting the whole world! We pray that voters’ concerns about the cost of living, & food & fuel prices soaring partly due to the president's aggressive tariffs and unpopular war with Iran, will bring changes that bring peace & justice.

#Peace - Ahead of Hindu’s Deepavali, the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue says “The more fraternity flourishes among us…the more peace will take root in our hearts.” In the spirit of Nostra Aetate, we pray for Interreligious dialogue & peace.

At the end of the Sunday Angelus on November 1, Pope Leo XIV recalled the operation that led to the evacuation of hundreds of civilians this week from the Russian-occupied Ukrainian town of Oleshky under a rare humanitarian ceasefire and appealed for dialogue and concrete initiatives for peace.
He entrusted to the Virgin Mary, “Queen of Peace and Queen of All Saints, all those throughout the world who are suffering because of wars.”

Speaking to participants of a meeting focused on the future of AI, Pope Leo XIV stressed that decisions relating to human life can never be given to machines.
"Decisions affecting human life, freedom and the use of force must always remain subject to effective, informed and responsible human oversight. For this reason, artificial intelligence must be 'disarmed', and I encourage the States meeting in Geneva in November to take concrete steps toward banning lethal autonomous weapons."

un.org/en/observances/disarm… - On this final day of the UN Disarmament Week, let’s pledge to continue our campaign to remove nuclear weapons from the world & to stop the immoral increasing trade in armaments. Keep writing to PM & Defence Secretary. Keep praying.
#UNdisarmamentWeek- we pray for peace, for continued disarmament, for an end to Netanyahu’s warmongering in Palestine & Iran.
No such thing as a ‘just war’ - let’s go forward with nonviolence methods.

#UN Disarmament Week - With Pope Leo arguing that there’s no such thing as a just war, we pray that disarmament will become a reality worldwide. Netanyahu continues to threaten Iran. May his lack of a majority end that threat. We ray for peace.

“Nuclear weapons, nuclear deterrence relies on the dehumanization of the other. It strips us of human dignity, and it takes away the brotherhood of all,”

Pope Leo XIV highlights how peace must become once again the "guiding star for all our choices," in a video message to the participants in the International Meeting "Unarmed and Disarming Peace" in Assisi. Forty years ago, Pope St. John Paul II had gathered religious representatives in the Italian town to pray for peace.
"Precisely in these times marked by a 'culture of power,'" Pope Leo continued, "there is a need to cultivate the spirit of Assisi, which entails a rejection of the religious justification of war, a spirit of mediation and dialogue, and contemplative reflection combined with creative action in the service of a future of peace."
#Peace - Good news on the peace front. Anna Blackman is the new general secretary of Pax Christi England & Wales. We hope Pax Christi Scotland won’t lose her wonderful input on nonviolence but pray for her successful future. God speed, Anna.

The importance of women’s participation in peace processes is not symbolic.
They are more likely to endure when women participate meaningfully.
Stability is more achievable when women have equal opportunity to shape the future.
And societies are stronger & more resilient when women & girls can live free from fear & violence.

Let us continue to pray together for peace. The day after tomorrow, on 27 October, let us join in spirit with the heads of churches and religious leaders who will gather in Assisi to mark the 40th anniversary of the meeting convened by Saint John Paul II. Never before has it been so clear that wars, as well as sowing death and destruction, impoverish and harm the world. May the Lord inspire choices of dialogue and peace! #PrayTogether
