Two future congressmen. 😉
Last week, I hosted an event in support of Eliott Rodriguez, my former primary opponent. Why? Because the stakes are too high. Our country hangs in the balance.
And @ERodforCongress has the heart and conviction to fight for us and send Maria Elvira Salazar packing.

Maria “Deportation Army” Salazar must’ve just gotten back some BAD polling.
Too bad it’s already too late

Never when it counts. Only for a vote. She is complicit. Vote her out.
And, no, Trump isn’t Lincoln.

Gracias a mi alcalde de siempre, Raúl Martínez, por sus lindas palabras.
English Translation: And take note, if Robin Peguero remains in our community, and Robin Peguero remains active in the Democratic Party in our community, there will be Robin Peguero for a while. For those of you who supported and voted for Robin Peguero, don’t feel bad because you lost. You lost this election, but there will be many races where Robin Peguero will be able to run — I’ve heard mention of county commissioner, or mayor of a city, state house or senate representative — and now he’s made a name for himself. And he now has a political base that he didn’t have before.

I’ve always been much more fascinated by how a person reacts to losing than he does winning.
I was drawn to electoral politics at fourteen years old in the aftermath of the 2000 presidential election. I knew, as Democrats, my parents and I were pulling for Al Gore, but I didn’t particularly know why. When I saw how he fought to count every vote right here in Miami, I came home from school and planted myself in front of the TV every night for hours to watch the recount drama unfold — completely transfixed. And when the Supreme Court stopped the counting of votes, it was Gore’s concession speech that moved me.
Advisers told him to keep fighting. But he said the democracy was more important. George W. Bush would now be his president, too.
And I thought to myself: That is a true public servant. I want to be like him.
Another loser who did the opposite of Gore came to define my life’s work. I watched horrified on January 6 as President Trump refused to concede and call off the rioters terrorizing Capitol staffers inside. I had been a 21-year-old staffer myself in those same halls, and the fear they must have felt angered me. It’s why nine months later, I joined the January 6th Committee. Because our democracy demands that “losers” bow out peaceably.
It’s why I was proud to have called Eliott Rodriguez (@eliottr) earlier tonight to concede and tell him what I’ll tell you: I will do everything in my power to make sure he is my next congressman. He has my full and enthusiastic support. This moment is too important, the stakes too dire, and our neighbors too besieged to continue under the failed leadership of Maria Elvira Salazar (@maelvirasalazar).
To my supporters: You are my family now. This working-class kid from Hialeah would never have dreamt of one day earning 15,000 votes of encouragement. It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around that. Thank you for believing in me.
I love this country more than anything. I’ll continue to serve her with every cell of my being. Onward. Upwards.

Plenty of honks of support at Coco Walk yesterday. We’re out in your community, jamming to some tunes and waving our signs for fresh, bold, and experienced leadership. Turn the page on old news! We’re ready to win in November.

Thanks to The Miami Times for the endorsement. Yes, qualifications are important in this critical moment in our country’s history.
“What makes Peguero particularly compelling is the combination of experience and local perspective. He has prosecuted homicides in Miami-Dade and tried 30 jury cases, but he has also worked in Washington and investigated some of the most consequential events in recent American political history …
District 27 deserves a representative who knows this community, understands the law and is prepared to hold government accountable. Robin Peguero brings all three qualities to the table, making him The Miami Times’ pick for the 2026 election.”

I’ve looked up to Congresswoman Sanchez since I was a 21-year-old staffer on the Hill. As the first Latina elected to a leadership position in the Congress, she knows what it takes to do the job and win. She’s the third sitting Congress member to endorse our campaign, and I am grateful to have her support. Let’s go win this thing!

The most fulfilling part of being a prosecutor was helping victims — particularly the next of kin in tragic murders — navigate the system and get some peace or closure during the worst time of their lives.
I met Amy within 48 hours of her son’s murder. As I always did, I worked the case hard those first 21 days, interviewing dozens of witnesses and reviewing boxes of evidence, including hours of video and audio. In the end, I sought first-degree murder charges and guided Amy and her family through the beginning of a long and trying process. That included picking up her calls at all times, even during the evening hours. That included meeting with her as often and for as long as she needed. That’s how hard working I’ll be as your congressman.
To have her support — from someone with an inside look of how seriously I take my work — means the world to me. I was happy to feature her endorsement on my campaign literature, and I was proud to use a union shop in printing it (slide 3 depicts the famous union bug! Look out for it when you receive mail from Democrats).

First, he needed permission from his campaign consultants.
Now, he’s too overworked because he decided to launch a last-minute campaign. (Not true: I was there in the building at the exact same time, prepared to debate for as long or as little as Eliott wanted. He said no because he’s just not up to the task, not because he’s too busy).
How will he serve in Congress from a perpetual swing seat where your job requires you to serve constituents AND run for reelection, when he can’t handle just one?
How will he stand up to Salazar when he can’t handle a debate against a fellow Democrat?
This is not what a strong general election candidate looks and sounds like. There’s a reason my ad was titled, “Backbone.” If we’re going to take on Trump, our elected officials absolutely need one. And this ain’t it.
Vote energy and experience. Vote Robin.

A six-year-old in Richmond Heights: “It’s the guy from the ads during Joel Osteen!” She wanted a hug and a picture.
Folks are recognizing me but, more importantly, resonating with my story of going from working-class Hialeah to Harvard to a career in public service.
Recognition was always just a first step. You need hard work, a record, and substance to win.

Another forum. This time Second Baptist Church Miami in Richmond Heights, the first Florida city founded for middle-class Black folks. And again, it’s just me. My primary opponent is, once more, a no-show (see the empty dais in the second pic).
If he won’t show up when he wants your vote, he won’t show after he’s been elected.
Thanks, Pastor Jackson! It was great worshipping at the church with my parents a few months back, and it was great seeing you again and sharing our message with the community.
