Would you rather… 🔦 Use a flashlight to light your way through a haunted house Or 🕯️ Use a candle to find your way through the dark? The safer choice is a flashlight! When decorating or celebrating Halloween, choose battery-powered lights or flashlights instead of open flames to help prevent fire hazards.

The incident also brought down power lines, adding to the complexity of restoration efforts. Pole replacements typically take 6–8 hours, although restoration times can vary depending on the extent of the damage and conditions at the site. Our Top 5 Horror Movies: 🚪 The front door left wide open while the heat is running. 😨 The space heater is plugged into an extension cord. 🥘 Opening the oven to “check” on dinner for the fourth time. 👕 The washer is cleaning the same load of clothes ... again. 💡 Every light in the house is on, but nobody’s home. Some horror stories are scarier when they show up on your electric bill. A few smarter energy habits and safe choices can help keep these nightmares fictional.

The decorations may be spooky. Your electrical setup shouldn’t be. Before you light up your home this Halloween, take a few minutes to check your setup: ⚡ Inspect cords and plugs for damage. 🔌 Don’t overload outlets. 👻 Make sure outdoor decorations and cords are rated for outdoor use. 🌙 Turn decorations off before you go to bed. Because sometimes, the scariest electrical hazards are the ones hiding in the shadows.
