Marco Penge

Marco Penge needs a good week at the Mexico Open to earn a PGA Tour card back for 2027 via the FedExCup Fall. He just shot a bogey free 7 under par 64 to sit T2 and projected to climb 36 spots to 76th on the standings and comfortably inside the top 100 to earn status. After the round, he spoke about where his game is at right now: “To be honest, the last couple events I've played I've been pretty useless. Before that for like eight, nine weeks I was playing some really good golf. “I've got my coach out here this week and we did some real good work the first three days in prep to try and have a strong finish to the season. “But I feel like I haven't actually played that much this year, I've only played 18 tournaments due to obviously health issues. I'm just trying to get back fit really. I'm still kind of 75, 80 percent there, which is a bit frustrating, but when you have days like today obviously it makes you feel a lot better putting in the hard work for good scores.” Marco has missed a lot of the season due to injury, he spoke about how he’s feeling physically and mentally: “Mentally, I feel like I'm in a really good spot. I feel like I found a balance between being a dad, being a golfer, being Marco the person. Spend a lot of time talking to my psychologist and talking about what my values are and trying to stick to them day to day. “Physically's been a nightmare. I feel like I'm doing everything I can and I still, certain areas of my body are causing me a lot of problems. So credit to the physios on my team helping me out-because without them daily, I feel like I would be struggling.” It’s clearly been a tough year on the course for Marco and he seems quite emotional talking about it there. I really hope can keep playing great this week and secure his PGA Tour playing rights for 2027. I’d like to see what he can achieve being fully healthy. @PengeMarco @PGATour
