The best part of all of Hasan's quotes is they are generally worse given context, and there is also a clip of him saying the same things more explicitly elsewhere.

COMPLAINT WITH JURY DEMAND
1. On August 11, 2026, Scott Jennings falsely told a nationwide podcast audience that Hasan Piker was “out there calling for Black voters to be lynched.” He falsely told his listeners that Mr. Piker had a “plan of returning our country to lynchings.” And then he falsely told his social media followers that Mr. Piker “says the USA should resume lynchings against black people.”
2. All of Mr. Jennings’ accusations are false. Mr. Piker has never advocated the lynching of Black Americans, or anyone else. He has never called for a return to lynchings. And he has never proposed anything remotely resembling the supposed plan that Mr. Jennings falsely attributed to him.
3. Mr. Jennings did not merely mischaracterize something Mr. Piker said. He took a false, fabricated, and manipulated video of Mr. Piker, added a made-up quotation that Mr. Piker never uttered, and then made accusations that went beyond even what the manipulated footage purported to show. Mr. Jennings presented those accusations as fact, telling his viewers to “[l]isten for yourself” about Mr. Piker, knowing that he was playing a falsified video of Mr. Piker for those viewers, and completely disregarding the truth of Mr. Piker’s actual words.
4. The underlying footage came from a broadcast nearly two years earlier on Twitch, an online streaming service owned by Amazon. On October 29, 2024, Mr. Piker was reacting to a debate between two Black political commentators, one liberal and one conservative. When the conservative commentator blamed “woke DAs” for policies supposedly harming Black Americans, Mr. Piker mocked him by sarcastically portraying that comment as nostalgia for an era before the civil rights movement. Laughing, Mr. Piker said:
He said, “We need more Klansman, okay? Can we go back to a better time when lynchings were happening? This is what I like as a Black man. Also, there’s no real racism in America.” My man said, “woke DAs,” dude. What are you saying?
5. Mr. Piker was plainly ridiculing the commentator’s position. He was not endorsing it. The debate video remained visible behind him. Mr. Piker introduced the remarks with “He said,” laughed as he delivered them, and concluded by questioning the commentator’s argument. His viewers understood the sarcasm. Some laughed along. Others expressly described his comments as hyperbole. Still others predicted that someone would eventually remove the context and circulate the resulting footage as though Mr. Piker had been speaking sincerely.
6. That is precisely what happened. In August 2026, a 42-second video began circulating on social media that combined fragments of three separate Twitch broadcasts. The portions taken from Mr. Piker’s October 2024 stream had been cropped, shortened, and rearranged. The underlying debate was removed from view. So was the contemporaneous audience commentary.
7. The words “He said,” which identified the object of Mr. Piker’s ridicule, were omitted. Mr. Piker’s laughter and subsequent explanation were also removed. The resulting video portrayed sarcastic criticism of another as though it were an expression of Mr. Piker’s own beliefs.
8. On August 11, 2026, Mr. Jennings broadcast that false video on The Scott Jennings Show, misrepresenting the manipulated video as authentic. But Mr. Jennings did not stop at repeating someone else’s misleading edit. He added his own caption to the video, presented as a direct quotation from Mr. Piker:

My daughter is now consistently asking for things. Actual verbal requests. She says "Juice please. I want ice cream. Open please." Even when I pull up the Youtube kids home page and it shows all the video thumbnails she will say whatever is in the thumbnail like "ladybug" to tell me the one she wants.
I have been drilling this with her for years, saying all the phrases out loud myself, I out loud narrate everything that we are doing so she builds up the word associations and she is doing it all consistently now. You can tell she is thinking "damn, this is way easier" so she is just directly asking for stuff now and verbally communicating.

A Berkeley chemical engineer who suffered years of unexplained illness discovered through a spy camera from Amazon that her coworker, David Xu, was poisoning her food and water with cadmium, a toxic heavy metal for nearly 18 months between 2017 and 2019. The victim experienced significant health problems and at times required emergency care at a hospital. Newly released video shows Xu appearing to put a substance in her water bottle in 2019.
Xu was arrested that year and charged with attempted murder and two counts of poisoning, offenses that could have sent him to prison for life. But under a plea deal, the attempted murder charge and one poisoning count were dropped. Xu pleaded no contest to one felony poisoning charge and received two years of probation, with credit for one day served. He completed probation in March and is now seeking to have his felony conviction dismissed.

The process of writing I'M YOUR CULT LEADER, BABY helped transform me into a Christian. By the time I first started writing the book, I'd begun to recognize there was a moral framework to the universe and one had to follow it if they wanted a chance of success. There were moral laws in the same way there were physical laws, things that if you did would burn you as consistently as if you'd touched fire. I'd always written about my craving for transcendent, of people who were empty and seeking an answer of what could fill them. Yet I was stupid, and flailing, and I didn't know what that answer was. My characters didn't either.
I'M YOUR CULT LEADER, BABY is about people seeking transcendence in all the wrong places, about the catastrophic decisions one makes when they believe they are their own master.
But as I wrote it, I came to the realization that if there were an infinitely wrong number ways to achieve transcendence, to fill the emptiness, perhaps there was a right way to do it too. Maybe the universe wasn't just a perpetual death machine, an ugly spitting hulk of matter. Maybe it did have a purpose beyond brutal punishment of perceived slights. Maybe it created that emptiness inside of me because the ache would lead me to the thing that would fulfill me.
I touched the darkness. I went as far down into it as I could go. And what I found in there, in that absence void, is that if this place of profound despair existed, then the light must exist too.
And it did. And it does. And if you look, the truth is shining everywhere.
Carrie, as a story, is a tragedy. Her mother and the bullies make a monster who goes on to kill a LOT of innocent people.
Its often played as catharsis, but its evil brought to a crescendo. Victim and monster all in one.
