VD: “PSA: Blind people can travel too” is overlayed on clips of teenagers walking in an airport with white canes.

Big obstacles? No problem!
Through #OrientationAndMobility training, students who are blind or visually impaired build the skills and confidence to navigate their surroundings safely and independently.

For people with disabilities, employment opportunities remain unnecessarily difficult when accessibility and inclusion are treated as exceptions rather than expectations.

POV: School IS your red carpet 📸✨
VD: Owen gets off the school bus wearing a button down shirt and different teachers tell him how nicely dressed he is as he walks into school. A camera sound flashes in the background with a freeze frame on Owen smiling for the camera.

Being THIS excited to go to school >>> ✨🥹
Video description: Mathew's teacher greets him off the bus and together they walk hand in hand with his white cane into the school building.
The #WhiteCane is an incredible tool used by #Blind and #LowVision people all over the world to move independently.
Over time the tip wears down, affecting the feedback it provides. Knowing how and when to change the tip is an important step in keeping a cane reliable and safe.
Learning how to use a #WhiteCane is a key part of developing independence for some students who are #Blind.
Here, Brayden works with his instructor to learn a new technique that helps him stay oriented along the edge of a sidewalk. #BlindnessAwarenessMonth
There's nothing like spending an afternoon at America's Most Beloved ballpark with peers who just get it.
Perkins was so excited to be invited to the @RedSoxFoundation's Fantasy Day.
Because everyone deserves a chance to get in the game. ⚾️
Instead of wondering, “How could a person with a disability possibly do this job,” employers should be asking, “What does this person need to do the job effectively?”

Continuing our #WhiteCaneDay celebrations, we asked Beth and Cory from @PerkinsLibrary to show us a few of the different canes from their collections. 🧑🦯
Have you tried any of these? There are plenty of canes in the @BlindNewWorld to discover!
Being #Blind doesn’t stop anyone from exploring the world. ✨
This #WhiteCaneDay, we’re celebrating the people who use a #WhiteCane, and the educators and #OrientationAndMobility specialists who teach the skills behind independent travel.
