So young, died serving his community. Condolences to his home and work families as well as his friends. Thank you for your service. Your life mattered💔
Many thanks for all the prayers, reposts and comments about me losing my lovely bonus daughter. It made my heart full that people took the time for all this.❤️
My bonus daughter died this morning. She had sores on her legs and wouldn’t go to the dr. She had surgery to clean them out. It was a flesh eating bacteria. CPR, mega drugs, intubation. Her body couldn’t handle it. My granddaughter is looking to me for support and I will give it.
An American hero who gave his all. So young yet they willingly signed up knowing what the possible outcome could be. US Marine Corps Lance Corporal Brent Basil Loucha, thank you for your service. Your life mattered💔.
My son called me tonight. His treatment isn’t working. Another spot was found on his liver. Next week he starts chemo and immunotherapy. I was doing ok until he said “pray for me Mama”. He hasn’t called me that since he was a kid. I listened to him talk while tears ran down. God.
A true hero, a warrior, thought of others before himself. Thank you Lawrence Joel for your service and dedication to protecting our country. Your life mattered💔

Lawrence Joel was sh*t through the chest and left for dead in a Vietnam battlefield, but the Army medic refused to stop. He treated wounded soldiers under machine-gun fire, dragged men to safety, and kept fighting until his own body gave out.
Joel was serving as a medical specialist with the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade.
It was November 8, 1965, near Bien Hoa, Vietnam.
His unit came under a massive enemy attack.
North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces opened fire from hidden positions.
American soldiers were being hit everywhere.
Joel ran toward them.
He treated the wounded.
Then he was shot.
A bullet entered his chest.
He collapsed.
The enemy kept firing.
Joel got back up.
He continued treating casualties while bullets ripped through the battlefield.
Then he was shot again.
And again.
He refused evacuation.
He kept moving between wounded soldiers.
He bandaged wounds.
Administered medication.
Dragged men away from exposed positions.
At one point, he crawled toward a soldier who was bleeding heavily and treated him while enemy fire continued around them.
Joel eventually suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
He was losing blood.
He was exhausted.
But he refused to stop until the wounded men were stabilized.
When reinforcements finally arrived, Joel was evacuated.
He survived.
For his actions, he received the Medal of Honor.
He became the first living African American soldier to receive the Medal of Honor for actions in Vietnam.
But the story didn't end there.
Joel continued serving in the Army.
He later worked with veterans.
He retired after more than 20 years of service.
Lawrence Joel died in 1984.
He was 57.
His legacy was later honored when the U.S. Army named a clinic after him.
The soldier who had been shot and left for dead became a symbol of battlefield medicine.
He didn't stop because he was wounded.
He kept treating other soldiers while bleeding himself.
Lawrence Joel was shot repeatedly in Vietnam.
He kept crawling toward the wounded.
Had my stent put in. I had a bad shoulder that I was told that the muscle must have pulled away from the bone from throwing the ball for Havoc, my dog. After the stent was put in my shoulder doesn’t hurt and neither does my arm. Crazy.😜
Another hero that paid the ultimate sacrifice.. LCpl Christopher Blake Rodgers, thank you for your service. Your life mattered💔. 16 years and your Dad is still proud of you, misses you and most of all, loves you and for good reason.

A true hero, one that others should look to for strength and dedication to his country. Thank you for your service.❤️
Del Toro joined the Air Force as a Tactical Air Control Party (apprentice; his main responsibility was to call for air support. He saw action in Bosnia in March 2001 and in the Iraq War earning a Bronze Star Medal for his service. In August 2005, Del Toro deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
On December 4, 2005, while on a mission to neutralize a high-value target, Del Toro's Humvee struck an improvised explosive device. He later recounted feeling a "intense heat blast" and being "on fire from head to toe."
After he collapsed, a member of the team carried him to a nearby creek; others kept him awake until medical evacuation could arrive. While receiving medical attention, Del Toro successfully instructed a soldier to call for an airstrike (in his stead. He was evacuated by helicopter to a field hospital.
Despite the severity of Del Toro's injuries, after five years and over 100 surgeries, he eventually recovered his strength. Given the choice between retiring from the Air Force and reenlisting as a TACP instructor, Del Toro chose to remain in the Air Force, becoming the first airman to reenlist after being deemed 100 percent disabled. 🫡
